$16.45 Quandel Jefferson, better known as Que-L, was born July 31, 1983 in Mt. Vernon, New York. He was born to Teresa Fair and Clifton Jefferson. He is one of six siblings. Just like so many other black children growing up, he was raised in a single-parent home. Although he knew of his father, they failed to have that father, son bond. Despite his father’s absence, he still managed to have a blessed childhood. The person who can be credited for this is no other than his mother. It is his mother who is the biggest influence in his life. Unfortunately, she had to take on the typical role of a single black mother. However, it was her strength and faith in a higher power that helped her manage the role of both mother and father. It was her that said, “If you have faith in God, He will never put you in a situation that you can’t handle.”In the music game, his influence is no other than Brooklyn’s greatest Shawn Carter, better known a Jay-Z or Hov. As an artist, Jay-Z has displayed that climbing from the bottom to the top is a difficult road. However, if you want it bad enough, you have to keep striving no matter the situation. Jay-Z has definitely proved you can be successful, even from the hood. When growing up in the ghetto, young black children don’t have many options. You always hear it is either play ball, rap, go to school, or turn to the streets. As a young man, Que-L never considered the rap game as his future. However, the defining moment came when he began recording music and received good feedback. It wasn’t until he noticed people were really connecting to his music that he began taking music seriously. He has been recording for 11 years now but still feels like a novice. It is this feeling that makes him go hard like a college ball player trying to get drafted to the NBA.It is his drive and motivation that makes him go hard on the daily basis. Through his environment and upbringing, he gained inspiration as an artist. He was able to take his life experiences and turn them into lyrics. These life experiences make his music more profound and relatable in every sense. He credits his life struggles for the message he is able to send through his music. He strongly feels if you have never lived it then you should never talk about it. You take a risk of losing your fans to other artists if you aren’t keeping it real.Every artist possesses the “it” factor that attracts fans. When it comes to Que-L, it is his tone, delivery, versatile style and dedication that makes him stand out from the next artist. Some artists pursuing music fail to take it seriously, but Que-L’s music is from the heart and soul. Regardless of the type of song, when you hear his flow you stop in your tracks and pay attention. He makes all kinds of music that appeals to a diverse group of people. The individuals are able to relate to the music because they live striving to survive in the daily struggle we call life. He has made music that makes you feel good and want to go tothe club. He has also made music that displays the true Que-L. Even though he’s from the hood, he maintains an open mind and aims to record songs with subjects besides the streets. One thing you don’t have to worry about is the usage of auto-tune in his music. He is a strong believer in “D.O.A”, Death of Auto-Tune.As expressed earlier, he is very serious ...
