Sit Down On It album
$7.89 One of the key figures in the development of funk, Bootsy Collins played bass in James Brown's JB's in the late '60s and early '70s and was later an integral member of George Clinton's Parliament/Funkadelic ensemble. Collins' approach to the bass is like none other. He plays it like a guitar, adding long, dazzling fills while simultaneously anchoring the band with a heavy, elastic bottom-end. During his P-Funk ...

$16.45 Four years ago my wife, Sharon, purchased a guitar for my Christmas present. I soon began taking lessons and discovered I enjoyed composing songs. Steve Pinckney, my guitar teacher, told me that I wrote simple “meat and potato” songs. I was pleased when he suggested that I record some of those songs and he agreed to produce the CD.The songs are richly flavored with his musical talents. Steve played his guitar as well as a variety of other instruments, arranged the songs in a variety of styles, and at times sang harmony.I greatly appreciated the expert recording skills, suggestions, and state of the art equipment contributed by Greg Towery, Rooftop Recording Studio. Greg’s percussion skills also added flavor to some of these songs. Both Steve and Greg were very supportive and patient.Tanya Doering-Pages, my daughter, masterfully formulated the CD covers and insert. Tanya’s photographs and design capture the essence of this CD.BEHIND EVERY SONG: I still Believe: What were some of our beliefs throughout the different stages of life? As time went by, what beliefs did we jettison and what beliefs did we retain?Storage Shed Blues: What if storage shed units were able to tell the story of their contents?Love’s Four Seasons: Metaphorically, the four seasons of nature parallel the four seasons of love. Ultimately, I picture an eternal love in a perfect setting.Crossover: Using a simple country living motif, this song challenges us to live a genuine and honest life.On the Hills and in the ...

Purple Wheelchair’s “OPERATION: Vexus Citizen Dimensional” is the album for you !The “Purple Wheelchair” recording project was born in a 100 year old schoolhouse near Ojai, California, in 2001. The proverbial “man behind the curtain”, known as “DEPT.”, started Purple Wheelchair with the philosophy of producing musical compositions in a “factory-esque”fashion, carefully building and turning out a steady stream of New Wave Psychedelic Pop, Ambient Dub Rock, and Other-Worldly Experimental aural landscapes. Until a machine or andrioid is manufactured that can replace them, Purple Wheelchair will keep on rolling out their extraordinary brand of musical stylings. With the help of a few close friends and family, Dept. and his “Purple Wheel Square Players” have only one mission in mind; to create a channeland a source of sounds embodying the freedom and joyfulness of the music of our collective youth. That source being the “other worlds of our inner-minds.” 15 Purple wheelchair Factoids1. Purple Wheelchair is the brain-child of a guy known as “Dept. ”, which is short for Department. 2.
