Closed Captioned; Additional Footage; Soundtrack English; English Subtitles; Director's Comments; Dolby Digital 5.1 Re Jason Friedberg and Adam Seltzer--the two guys who did EPIC MOVIE, DATE MOVIE, SCARY MOVIE, and MEET THE SPARTANS--bring you DISASTER MOVIE, a compendium of gross-out gags and reference-check quasi-satire bits aping THE INCREDIBLE HULK, INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL, HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL, JUMPER, ENCHANTED, DON'T MESS WITH THE ZOHAN, SEX AND THE CITY, NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM, and so on. The story is structured via CLOVERFIELD with Will (Matt Lanter), after having a 10,000 B.C.-style dream involving an Amy Winehouse look-a-like (Nicole Parker), races against time to rescue his girlfriend (Vanessa Minnillo) who is trapped in a museum with references to TWISTER; meanwhile kids who look like the teens from SUPERBAD try and score booze. What? Along for the ride are a JUNO-esque slacker girl (Crista Flanagan) and Gary "G-Thang" Johnson; there are take-offs of ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS, and celebrity impersonations of Dr. Phil, Michael Jackson, the real Kim Kardashian, and the ubiquitous Carmen Electra; lots of dances and fights and dance/fights (à la STEP UP and STEP UP 2 THE STREETS). The comedy talent here is mostly imported from MAD TV, particularly Parker, who also does ENCHANTED and a mean Jessica Simpson. The recipe here, as before, is to cram in as many pop-culture references as possible, douse liberally with gross bodily fluids, and serve face forward. In other words, it's the perfect film for loud shouts and inappropriate laughter with a roomful of one's most off-color cohorts.
This is the only G-Thang video. Disaster Movie Movie Review Average Rating: (2.3 out of 5 stars) Five Stars, Baby! I loved this movie! It starts out slow, but it gets better. It really made me laugh and chuckle in a lot of spots. This movie spoofs all the big hits of 2008, including Iron Man, Hulk, Juno, High School Musical, Kung Fu Panda, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Wanted, Batman, and also spoofs celebrities like Hannah Montana, Jessica Simpson, Dr. Phil, to you name it. If it was popular in 2008, it was spoofed in Disaster Movie. God help me, but, I love these silly spoof movies! Submitted by Dan Walimaa (Southfield, Michigan) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
I Quit I just now realized that this company only makes the stupidest movies in the world. so If you see something like ULTAMIATE MOVIE or HALLOWEEN MOVIE you know it is going to be nothing more than Crapola. I rait movies according to what I feel about the actors, director, writers, and of corse the MOVIE itself. and at this point all of it is GARBAGE so if you see any advertisements to any more spoof films with MOVIE in the name, watch it, but expect it to come out of an ass. I don't want to rait this horrible movie, but I have to give it a 1 star. cause their isn't a negative number raiting. Disaster Movie DVD
$23.39 After nearly two decades of successful detours into mature thrillers (THE GIFT, A SIMPLE PLAN) and superhero blockbusters (the Spider-Man series), director Sam Raimi returns--full tilt--to his scrappy horror roots with DRAG ME TO HELL. Alison Lohman stars as Christine Brown, a soft-spoken Southern girl with a good heart, a PhD-toting boyfriend (Justin Long), and a job as a loan officer at a bank just outside of Los Angeles. When evicting a vile and negligent old woman named Mrs. Ganush (Lorna Raver) seems to be the only way to secure an important promotion, Christine pushes her moral flexibility about as far as it can go (not very far at all) only to dearly pay the price as the recipient of a rather nasty curse. The next three days of Christine’s life amount to an unimaginable endurance test in which she is subject to physical and psychological torture while a terrifying demon draws ever closer to take her to hell, where she would burn for eternity.
Raimi manages to keep the feverish awfulness of DRAG ME's central concept palpable while layering on his distinctly disturbing and exhilaratingly kinetic macabre-meets-slapstick portraiture, and the result is an efficient celebration of the art of horror movies that’s campy, scary, and fun. Similar to HBO’s classic TALES FROM THE CRYPT series, HELL feels like a living, breathing EC comic. While it may come as a minor shock that Bruce Campbell, ...

$19.55 With echoes of THE STATION AGENT, this French drama centers on Antoine (Nicolas Cazale), a 30-year-old city dweller who is forced to return to the country when his father falls ill. He takes over his father's job as a grocery cart driver and brings the far-flung residents the things they need. But thanks to the presence of his crush Claire (Clotilde Hesme) and a growing friendship with the local people, he realizes that there may be more to the life he thought he'd left behind. Eric Guirado (QUAND TU DESCENDRAS DU CIEL) directs this sweet film that won many hearts when it played in its native country.
It is summer, and thirty-year-old Antoine is forced to leave the city to return to his family in Provence. His father is sick, so he must assume the lifestyle he thought he had shed--driving the family grocery cart from hamlet to hamlet, delivering supplies to the few ...

$23.39 Kate Hudson and Anne Hathaway go veiled head to veiled head in this bridal comedy. Childhood friends Liv (Hudson) and Anne (Hathaway) have dreamed of June weddings at the Plaza since they were kids, and now their fantasy is finally within reach. Both young women have gotten proposals, and they've booked their dates at the famed Manhattan landmark. But a mistake in the office of their wedding planner, Marion St. Claire (Candice Bergen), causes their weddings to be scheduled on the same day, and neither woman will budge. Harsh words escalate into sabotage, and each woman craftily plots the demise of the other's wedding until events reach a screeching, squealing pitch on a sunny June day.
With roles in films such as HOW TO LOSE A GUY IN 10 DAYS and MY BEST FRIEND'S GIRL, Hudson has perfected starring in light comedies. In BRIDE WARS, she doesn't take her usual ...

$13.55 Book club favorite THE SECRET LIFE OF BEES more than just survives its transition to the screen. Thanks to its strong cast, this female-centric drama thrives. Dakota Fanning stars as Lily, a 14-year-old girl living with her abusive father (Paul Bettany) in South Carolina in 1964. Lily struggles with a burden of guilt after she accidentally killed her mother a decade before, and she longs for knowledge of the woman. When the family's caretaker Rosaleen (Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson) is arrested after standing up to a group of violent white men, Lily seizes the opportunity to run off with Rosaleen and search for clues to her mother's life. They arrive at the home of the Boatwrights, a trio of black sisters. Motherly August (Queen Latifah) cultivates the state's most coveted honey, June (Alicia Keys) focuses on her music and on rebuffing the advances of an ardent suitor (Nate Parker), and childlike May (Sophie Okonedo) struggles to stay happy in the turbulent time. But in a still-racist world where the Civil Rights Act has just been passed, the Boatwrights' home acts as a haven for Lily as she searches for information about her mother's past.
The heavy drama could've presented a challenge for Fanning, who has gone beyond the role of a little girl, but she does a fine job. The other actresses in the film, especially Latifah and ...
| | It's Hard Being Loved By Jerks
Disaster Movie video
Daniel Leconte's IT'S HARD BEING LOVED BY JERKS recounts one of France's most incendiary trials of the early 21st century. When Philippe Val, editor of the satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo, published 12 controversial Danish cartoons, he had no idea that his actions would spark a fiery national debate. The resulting court case, brought by three influential organizations--the Great Mosque of Paris, the World Muslim League, and the Union of Islamic Organizations of France--created a hugely important freedom-of-speech battle. To the editors of Charlie Hebdo and other French newspapers, these cartoons weren't saying that all Muslims were terrorists, but to the prosecution they were insensitive to the point of being law-breaking and criminal. Fortunately, Leconte was there from the ...
