Genesis CD music
$6.25 After spending 12 years as a member of Bob Marley's Wailers, Peter Tosh was eager to break free from the shadow of the legendary frontman. In 1976, he released LEGALIZE IT, still one of the most significant albums in the history of reggae. The title track expresses one of Tosh's many political causes, justifying the legalization of marijuana as a remedy for various medical ailments. "Burial" is one of several tracks that features the talents of the Wailers' stand-out lead guitarist, Al Anderson.
Tosh adds his own seasoning to the reggae pot as he incorporates keyboards in "Whatcha Gonna Do" and synthesizers and sound effects on "Igziabeher." "Ketchy Shuby," a sing-along about fooling around, features the background vocal talents of Rita Marley, Bunny Wailer, and Judy Mowatt. Tosh's life ended too early, and LEGALIZE IT is the strongest testament to his legacy. Take a listen, and share the spirit of his genius.
After years of being overshadowed by Bob Marley, Peter Tosh left the Wailers to pursue a solo career. Released in 1976, Legalize It is a bold statement that Peter Tosh had arrived and was a creative force in his own right. Although he explores some ...

$22.89 ABOUT THE BAND: ElectricKoraLand (EKL) create original music using a fusion of world instruments, combined with contemporary sounds. Originally EKL began working with the Traditional Kora (African Harp), Cello and hand percussion (Djembe; Tama; Shakers) which feature in their first Album "Numbawan". Since then EKL have spread their global roots to an expansive repertoire featuring an Electrified version of the Kora (with the additional of 4 bass strings); Electronically modulated cello; Mbiras (African Thumb Pianos); Hang Drums (Gong like instruments shaped like flying saucers); Cajon, and Balafon (West African instrument similar to Marimba). These instruments are channelled through an array of effects, with various acoustic hand percussion of African and Contemporary influence, and sometimes with programmed percussion. The new Album "House of Luck" also draws on Indian influences featuring Konnakol (Indian Vocal Percussion), and on some tracks African inspired lyrics. Guest artists top off superb production and include Viola, Tama from West African Griot Zig Bey Jan, Double Bass, and Orchestral Percussion. Superbly mastered by James Hewgill (one of Australia's finest sound engineers) make this an album your ears wont tire of.THE TRACKS; 1) JINADEE - a purely vocal piece combining mostly Indian percussive and melodic patterns with African inspired song, harmonic chant and even a line of rudimentary beatboxing. Sound like a quirky beast?:- that it is! Two of the band members travelled to India during the recording process to study Konokol – Southern Indian vocal percussion, having already spent several years studying southern Indian ...
| | J-Lobster Mindless Pleasures CD (2009) (Import)
Genesis album
$12.85 Moscow band J-Lobster was formed in 1993 and pretty soon began doing shows all over the city. Energized and dedicated live presence earned them a dedicated following in the club scene. J-Lobster’s music was a curios blend of indie-rock and funk and heavily relied on syncopated rhythms and off-kilter chord progressions. The line-up went through various changes, until in 2004 the band was finally revived as a four piece. That year marked the new beginning in the long and adventurous life of J-Lobster. Debut album entitled «Oi Lucky Universe!» was released on an independent record label “Indie-Go!” in 2006 and included 14 of the strongest and catchiest tracks mostly taken from the vaults. Almost immediately, the band (now branded J-Lobster for vague karma-related reasons) started working on the second studio album, “Mindless ...
