| Very good metal!
Grand Magus pretty much combines the "battle hymn" songwriting of Manowar with the heaviness of Candlemass. The result is a great metal release. If you would like your Manowar without a second helping of Velveeta, then check out "Iron Will"....you won't be disappointed.

| Another Great, Relatively Unknown Band
My goodness, what a beast of an album! Great vox, great riffs & great lyrics. From the titanic opening riffs of When the Oar Strikes the Water to The Shadow Knows to Beyond Good & Evil, this is just unadulterated heavy metal !! Has Sabbath overtones, it is the gutsy heartfelt vocals & tasty guitar work in each song that hits the emotion button. If you like classic metal that is well written, i would highly recommend this.

| Swedish Power Metal!
These Swedish rockers fronted by singer/guitarist Janne "JB" Christofferson combine a Sabbathy "doom" sound with 80's hair metal with a dose of NWOBHM (New Wave Of British Heavy Metal) thrown in for good measure. Christofferson's vocals are excellent as are his guitar licks which were inspired by guitar wiz Michael Schenker. Not surprisingly he plays a Gibson Flying V like Schenker. From the first cut "Like The Oar Strikes The Water" you know this cd is gonna smoke. Lots of heavy distorted electric guitar, pounding bass and drums make up this band (which consists of three members). If you like doom, 80's or the NWOBHM then buy this ASAP.
