Traffic music CDs
$10.15 Although Moving Atlas has only been together since early 2005, the roots that make up this band run long and deep. Guitarist Ricky Dansby came across drummer Matt Baker while both were in different projects but playing at the same venue in the mid '90s. Ricky and Matt started hanging out together and eventually started their own band. In the late '90s they had to replace their bassist and contacted Geoff Lucke. Ricky had heard about Geoff from the local scene and knew he was looking for a band. After playing together in several versions of this project and never reaching their goals, each member eventually went in their own direction. In 2004, Ricky met guitarist Ben Scott. Ben had been working on a lot of his own original music and had several song ideas for Ricky to listen to. The two played together for a couple of months, creating several acoustic songs and learning each other's writing ...
| | Linda Perhacs Parallelograms CD (1970) Bonus Tracks; Reissue
Traffic songs
$15.15 The history of rock music is filled with one-hit wonders and debut albums left without a follow-up. Most of those just had the fate they deserved, some were the results of early disbanding or mismanagement. Linda Perhacs' Parallelograms belongs to none of those categories. The singer/songwriter spent all her inspiration on this gem, simple as that. It sits there on the shelf, a life's compendium, stunning in its beauty and the fact that no later albums can frame it in a historical context, or diminish its impact. Softer, less declamatory than Joan Baez, more daring than Joni Mitchell, Perhacs' songs are psychedelic on a daily, domestic basis. Originally released in 1970, the album had been lifted from the LP and reissued on CD by The Wild Places in 1996. Informed by the female singer/songwriters of the late '60s, and the sonic experiments of the West Coast psychedelic scene (just listen to the title track, its abstract lyrics and beautiful, intertwined atonal melodies), Perhacs has created 40 minutes of music out of time. ~ François Couture

Originally released in 1970, the album had been lifted from the LP and reissued on CD by The Wild Places in 1996. The label was finally able to locate Perhacs after the CD was released. In 2003, a new, expanded edition of Parallelograms came out. Remastered from the original master tapes, it sports a much better sound, warmer and with more of that psychedelic reverb. It also includes six bonus tracks: a previously unknown song, "If You Were My Man" (in both demo and completed versions, this ...
