Thankfully, a strange, elderly neighbor called Jud knows a secret that may spare the young girl's tears. He takes the dead cat to an ancient Indian burial ground that lies hidden in the surrounding hilltops; and when he buries the feline there, it comes back to life a few days later.
But Louis can't be trusted with the secret, and, despite strong warnings that something horrible will happen, he uses the power of the burial ground to bring his son back from the dead -- after the child is killed the same way the family cat was. Director Mary Lambert's (THE IN CROWD) second film is a very underrated rendering of a Stephen King bestseller. In it a young family, the Creeds have recently moved to a new neighborhood where they very quickly lose their cat, which is run over by a speeding truck. The Creed's neighbor, Jud (Fred Gwynne), feeling bad for the family, tells Mr. Creed (Dale Midkiff) about the secret Indian burial ground in the neighborhood, which has mysterious rejuvenating powers. However, when the Creed's infant son meets a fate similar to the family pet, Mr. Creed can't resist temptation and he brings an unspeakable evil back from the grave. Marks the first time that author Stephen King wrote the screenplay for a filmed version of one of his novels.
Pet Sematary Reviews: "...Peter Stein's cinematography is superbly varied, from the bright hues of a glossy magazine to the dark shadows of a charnel house....PET SEMATARY is a handsomely produced film..."

Pet Sematary Movie Review Average Rating: (1 out of 5 stars) I Don't Get IT I don't get it, did stephen king write this or willy wonka? I think it says stephen king's pet sematary because he was the first to see the movie. speaking of this movie, I don't understand it, when you die thats it, so how come the cat and kid came back to life? OHH I get it, they were never dead, the parents just baried them alive because they were afraid of their child and cat looking at pornography. so they stuff them in bags and bary them at a place called, "Pet and child sematary" well when they dug their way out, it was to oviously look at porn, so they tried to kill the parents but the dad put him to sleep and the cat and burned the house down. at the end the wife get's a little pissed for him killing their only son so she pickes up a knife and.... makes some toast thats right toast when you here him scream at the end it was because he didn't want none with butter. good movie, bad writing 1 star Submitted by Stupid King (pink underwear) Was This Review Helpful? Sometimes dead is better... This is definitely one of King's best films! I saw this in the movie theater back in 89, and it scared the hell out of me. When the father gave Gage the injection, and he said no fair and then he fell down, How did they make that looks so real? Gage couldn't have been more than a couple of years old! Next to the Excorcist, this is the scariest movie ever made! Submitted by Lance (New Jersey) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No This review is for a different format.

Pet Sematary film
$9.79 Writer-director Hill's first feature is a picturesque action film about a bareknuckle streetfighter (Bronson) who drifts into Depression-era New Orleans and hooks up with a small-time gambler. The gambler takes over the boxer's career, arranging illegal fights and involving him in a scheme to fleece some gangsters. Hill's eye for atmosphere combined with Bronson's best tough-guy role makes for a winning combination.

Pet Sematary review
$6.29 Eighteen years ago, the abusive husband of Dolores Claiborne (Kathy Bates) died under mysterious circumstances. His death was ruled an accident despite the suspicions of police detective John Mackey. Now the elderly woman she has nursed for many years has also died--with Dolores found standing over her body with a rolling pin in her upraised hands--and this time she is accused of murder. Her estranged daughter (Jennifer Jason Leigh), who blames Dolores for her father's death, returns to confront her with her resentment. Are things as cut-and-dried as they seem, or is there more to the story? After years of living a lie, Dolores Claiborne has to finally face the truth with her daughter--or risk losing her for good. Weaving skillfully between past and present, director Taylor Hackford delivers a deceptively adept melodrama, based on a novel by Stephen King and illuminated by Kathy Bates's bravura performance.
