Personnel: Joe Bonamassa (vocals, guitar); Rick Melick (keyboards); Carmine Rojas (bass guitar); Bogie Bowles (drums). Although his previous studio albums have rightly positioned him as the king of electric blues guitarists, Joe Bonamassa's gut-wrenching expressiveness and technical wizardry are best experienced live. This blistering two-disc concert set captures Bonamassa's brilliance on strutting stompers ("Bridge to Better Days"), aching laments ("So Many Roads"), and-the highlight--a sweat-inducing medley of "A New Day Yesterday"/ "Starship Trooper" / "Wurm." Everyone in the band did an amazing job and it definetly shows. The only thing better than this is actually seeing Joe live, so you get the whole experience!
The sound is perfect, mixed by the legendary Kevin Shirley (Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Journey). Kevin really did a great job. The crowd appears when it needs to be heard. Every instrument is fairly balanced. Rick Melick comes through nice and clear.
If you haven't already, get this CD! You will NOT regret it. It's worth every penny. Submitted by Bill (New Jersey) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 4 of 5 found this helpful.
Rawest new music in a while! I had never heard of Joe before I bought this cd. I just bought it out of the blue. I was experimenting and boy am I glad I did. This cd is my favorite cd of 2008. Every single track is bangin. Wow Joe, you are a bad man! Other reviewers hated on it because they have heard these songs before. Don't all concerts and live performances contain popular songs? It is a live album. You have to be sippin on some sloe gin if you don't like this album. If you see it, buy it because your cd player will thank you. Joe never lets you down Smoken Joe is in my humble opinion the best blues/rock guitarest alive today. Electric, acoustic, it doesn't matter. This guy shreds and then sheds the shredded remains. Great set. On disc two the ZZ Top, Government Mule, Frampton, Led Zeppelin medly is awesome. Can't wait for his next masterpiece. Just wish he would come to Miami. | | Joe Bonamassa New Day Yesterday: Live CD (2002)
Live From Nowhere In Particular
$11.89 Issued as a companion piece to the NEW DAY YESTERDAY studio album, this 2002 concert outing finds blues-rock vocalist/guitarist Joe Bonamassa performing many songs from that well-received record. Highlights include a stinging rendition of Free's "Walk in My Shadows," the simmering "I Know Where I Belong," and the rollicking "Trouble Waiting." Something of an odd release, A New Day Yesterday Live documents the final date of a 60-day jaunt during blues guitar prodigy Joe Bonamassa's 2001 tour in support of his major-label debut bearing the same title, and (this is the odd part), ...

Live From Nowhere In Particular
$13.85 Personnel: Joe Bonamassa (vocals, guitars); Rick Melick (piano, organ, tambourine); Carmine Rojas (bass instrument); Jason Bonham (drums). Additional personnel: Doug Henthorn (vocals); Pat Thrall (guitar); Jeff Bova (programming). Despite his statement in the liner notes that "In an era where it is best to play it safe, I chose to take a risk...," there isn't much surprising or risky about young guitarist Joe Bonamassa's fifth studio album. Most of his previous releases have mixed blues covers with his own originals, all played with a rocker's attitude, volume and less-than-subtle approach. This one follows suit and even though he goes on to say that he "wanted to make a blues album, not a rock album that has blues on it," as in the past; it's impossible to claim ...

Live From Nowhere In Particular
$13.79 Personnel: Joe Bonamassa (guitars); The Bovaland Symphonic Orchestra (strings); Rick Melick (keyboards); Carmine Rojas (bass guitar); Anton Fig, Bogie Bowles (drums). A child blues-guitar prodigy, New York State singer/six-stringer Joe Bonamassa racked up an impressive solo catalogue as a young adult by incorporating a restless rock edge into his well-honed sound. This 2007 acoustic-oriented outing finds Bonamassa presenting a typically excellent set, with both his passionate voice and dexterous guitar-playing in fine form, particularly on the gritty opener, "Ball Peen Hammer." For his seventh studio album, guitar wiz Joe Bonamassa has chosen to work again with producer Kevin Shirley, ...
