Past In Different Ways album
$19.89 Of the "big four" original thrash bands (the other three being Metallica, Anthrax, and Megadeth), Slayer was the least compromising and most consistent. As such, 2009's WORLD PAINTED BLOOD recalled more than the title of Slayer's 1986 masterpiece REIGN IN BLOOD; it shared the earlier album's ferocious aggression and trademark speed metal-meets-hardcore sound. Throughout, the sound is lean and mean, with bassist/vocalist Tom Araya's vocals mixed ...
| | Stryper Murder By Pride CD (2009)
Past In Different Ways CD music
$10.65 After the original Stryper lineup (minus bassist Tim Gaines) reunited for 2005's somewhat alternative/nu-metal tinged REBORN, the band made a stylistic return to form with MURDER BY PRIDE. Brimming with harmonized twin guitar leads, big hair metal-approved shout-along hooks, and Michael Sweet's trademark soaring, Dennis DeYoung-esque vocals, ...
| | Atreyu Congregation Of The Damned CD (2009)
Past In Different Ways music CDs
$11.65 On their latest effort, Atreyu come with more of the same metalcore that listeners have come to expect from the band. All of the familiar elements are in place, with the alternating screaming/soaring vocals, thundering double bass drumming, and big, crunchy riffage. The difference here is that the band seems to have mellowed out a bit, opting for a more melodic approach. Like their last album, the songs here feel somewhat restrained, like they're just dying to break free of the polished production. The intensity of SUICIDE NOTES and BUTTERFLY KISSES seems to have been put out to pasture, with the songs feeling more deliberately poppy.

| | PJ Olsson Words For Living CD (1999) Bonus Tracks; Japan
Past In Different Ways songs
$34.69 PJ Olsson's WORDS FOR LIVING includes "Visine," "Dandelion," and more.
The Japanese import version includes two bonus tracks, one of them a "Visine" remix.
The intrinsic P.J. Olsson gets twisted and dramatic on his major label debut, Words for Living. This singer/songwriter bridges the gap between hip-hop and acoustic harmonies to fuse an earthy hollow sound into sonic heaven. Olsson delivers a brash whirlpool of turntablism and pure funkadelic grooves, alongside woven, intense lyrics. "Visine" is a raw arrangement of club/dance vibes, and the bluesy ballad "People" dramatically illustrates Olsson's sullen determination. "Good Dream" is a mesmerizing tale criticizing history, even cat calling Adolf Hitler. Like other alternative rock musicians, such as Beck, M. Doughty, and Joseph Arthur, P.J. Olsson has jumped into the futuristic movement in making music sound experimental -- the innovative ways similar to rock masterminds, Brian Wilson and Pink Floyd's David Gilmour. ~ MacKenzie Wilson

Past In Different Ways music CDs
$20.29 Following 10 years on the international circuit with vocal powerhouse, FRUIT, the fiery REDHEAD of that superbly acclaimed group brings REDHEAD to the stage. My name is Susie Keynes, I am a fiery redhead and I confess I love to rock.I am a quintessential rocker girl who chooses a guitar for its tone first and then for its colour. When both are happening its a very good day.I have notched up a lot of years on the road - the last dozen with the relentlessly dynamic and road wearing band, FRUIT. We have toured tirelessly to much of the world, made 8 records, sold around 100,000 of them and carved a life of independence and great satisfaction. That journey now rests...INTRODUCING REDHEAD.REDHEAD is Susie Keynes on acoustic and electric guitars, CJ Rhodes on Bass and Yanya Boston on Drums. A bright, tight three-piece, REDHEAD delivers a sonic punch shifting between acoustic plaintiveness and the explosion of raucous girl-rock.With the freshness of any young band, REDHEAD combines a bristling energy, great songwriting, ear-tugging tunes, seasoned players and the size-defying vocals of a none-too-diminuitive redhead. With her prime influences tagged as Joni Mitchell and Chrissie Hynde of The Pretenders, the REDHEAD agenda is to create music that not only rocks the audience, but has them hanging off every word. Teaming up with UK producer Paul Gomersall (Blur, Kate Bush, George Michael) REDHEAD has just completed the recording of it\'s debut release, ORDINARY GIRL. Susie\'s stand alone vocal sits atop a soundscape that captures gritty brit-rock, breathy ballads and soaring anthemic ...
