Orkestar Zirkonium is a Balkan-inspired mobile brass-and-drum band cast through an American lens. Our repertoire includes songs on loan from Eastern Europe's phenomenal brass band tradition, as well as a number of original compositions. Orkestar Zirkonium was founded by a core group of Seattle musicians in 2003, and has over the years accumulated over a dozen members. The band plays in a variety of incarnations and lineups; the versatile percussion section includes bass drum, snare, dumbek, and percussion instruments such as cymbals, tambourine, and qarqabats. As a marching band, our desire is to facilitate joyous musical spectacles in unexpected locales. Our performances range from the completely unsanctioned to the civically sponsored: We maraud through grocery stores, throw dance parties in fountains and parks, and take over parties as surprise (and, sometimes, invited) guests; we burst uninvited into taverns, play for families at city festivals, provide the soundtrack for underground casinos, and entertain wedding-goers. | | Bob Marley Live!: Live At The Lyceum CD (1975) Bonus Tracks; Remastered
Orkestar Zirkonium
$11.05 Additional personnel includes: Rita Marley, Judy Mowatt, Marcia Griffiths (background vocals).
Nobody who likes music could fail to be emotionally moved by this album, and not just because Marley is no longer with us. It was a special live treat before he died. The great thing about this record is the feeling that this is what it was like every night, unlike other live recordings which capture one or two gigs of a tour. Marley was extra special and a giant of popular music. Wallow in this vital record and listen to a man who had something to say and yet had fun while he said it. Most of the tracks you would want to be on the record are here, including the definitive version of 'No Woman No Cry' and a funky 'Lively Up Yourself'.
As the title implies, this is indeed Bob Marley & the Wailers captured in performance at the Lyceum Ballroom in London during the final U.K. leg of the Natty Dread tour. Passionate and symbiotic energies constantly cycle between the band and audience, the net result of which is one of the most memorable concert recordings of the pop music era. With the addition of lead guitarist Al Anderson during the recording sessions for their previous long-player, Natty Dread, the Wailers took increasing strides toward a seamless transition into the consciousness ...

| | Geri Robak Mothers Let's Celebrate Who We Are CD (2006)
Orkestar Zirkonium
$13.15 Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin from a family of ten children, Geri has been singing since she was 8 years old. After high school, this vivacious blond traveled and performed with her own group on the hotel and lounge circuit between Chicago and the West Coast including the Showrooms of Reno, Tahoe and Las Vegas, Nevada. When she wasn’t performing on stage, Geri could be found in recording studios in Chicago where she became a most-in-demand singer for numerous national and local commercials including the The Yellow Pages, Manpower, State Farm Insurance, Miller Beer, and United Airlines to name a few. After leaving Milwaukee Geri became the featured singer with the Ray Anthony Orchestra, and later moved to California joining Tony Orlando’s new show. After a year of travel that kept her away from her family, she settled into the LA music scene singing backup for Donny and Marie Osmond, England Dan & John Ford Coley, and composers Bob Alcivar and Quincy Jones. Geri recorded the vocal song-track for Rita Moreno in the PBS series Tales of The Hollywood Hills and is a featured soloist on three albums produced for the Equity Fights AIDS Foundation, namely Sing Before Breakfast, Keep Your Undershirt On, and Early Kern. As a singer she was the opening act for Bob Hope, George Burns, and comedian Tom Dreesen. She later went on to Broadway where she won the coveted role of Marilyn Monroe in the production of MARILYN: An American Fable which led to her one woman show Marilyn Monroe – thru the Eyes of Norma Jean. Geri and her husband in recent years have written and recorded original musical production numbers for Merle Norman and Estee Lauder for their convention showcase productions, and she is the featured singer on a theme song for the Las Vegas Convention Center and Visitors Bureau. Geri recently finished her first CD with her husband and musical director, Jim Robak, produced by Darryl Kennedy. The CD is a tribute to “Mothers” everywhere and is dedicated to Geri’s late mother of 10 children, June, to whom Geri makes special tribute with her original song and tour-de-force vocal, “I Will Sing For You”. “Let’s Celebrate Who We Are”, the album’s title song, is dedicated to mothers everywhere. “No One’s Ever Gonna Love You…More Than Me” is focusing on the object of your unrequited love, whether it’s a loved one – lover, spouse, child, pet - or anyone.“Just Know” was inspired by the circumstances of her daughter Amy who was working at the World Trade Center and escaped the horrors of September 11th. “Pick Me” is dedicated to the many children in foster care and orphanages who are looking to be part of a family. “When You’re Out of Chocolate Do the Samba” is a tongue-in-cheek song dedicated to chocoholics around the world to get up and dance when their supply runs out. “That Place Is In My Heart” is a dream fantasy with a very romantic lyric about falling ...
