I am 55 years old from New York. I have been living in Israel as a citizen since 2003. I have been singing, writing, performing, and fronting original/copy bands since 1971. By the mid seventies we were headlining at some of the top clubs in Manhattan, "Folk City'" and "CBGB's", and "My Fathers Place," the top club on Long Island. I opened up for Tom Paxton in 1975 and Al Kooper in 1983. I came close to a record deal a few times but never popped. I became a National Recording Artist in the late 1980's with a National TV/Cable jingle for Wylers "Fruit Slush" and I did local New York jingles after that. Around that time I left music and devoted my time to learning what it means to be a Jew. The 10 songs on the CD are some answers I found. Since 1985 I have been trying to live a life of traditional Torah Judaism. I am still looking for a wife and a record deal. If you are a seeker of G-d, truth and wisdom, no matter what your background, and a fan of popular music, check me out.

Comprising the same lineup as Street Corner Talking, Savoy Brown released Hellbound Train a year later. For this effort, Kim Simmonds' guitar theatrics are toned down a bit and the rest of the band seems to be a little less vivid and passionate with their music. The songs are still draped with Savoy Brown's sleek, bluesy feel, but the deep-rooted blues essence that so easily emerged from their last album doesn't rise as high throughout Hellbound Train's tracks. The title cut is most definitely the strongest, with Dave Walker, Simmonds, an Recorded live in Canada between 1969 & 1972. Includes liner notes ...

DO YOU GET THE BLUES won the 2002 Grammy Award for Best Traditional Blues Album. In the decade following his departure from The Fabulous Thunderbirds and the death of his younger brother Stevie Ray, Jimmie Vaughan quietly carved out a critically acclaimed solo career steeped in a fusion of soul and blues. Despite parting ways with Nile Rodgers, (who produced Vaughan's first two records), the laid-back ...

Any time a musician survives a life-altering change, you can be sure that will be reflected in the music that follows. Often a breakup/divorce, new love/marriage, drug rehabilitation/habit or religious transformation has been responsible for some of pop's most memorable music. So it's no surprise that after Candye Kane was clear of the pancreatic cancer that could easily have been her death sentence, she would reference that experience on the album immediately following the harrowing situation. Kane doesn't waste any time doing that as the opening title track to her first post-cancer effort kicks off with the brassy singer bellowing the lyrics "I've always been a fighter" ...

Find A Way
Simon Hood Find A Way CD  (2008)

Blues For Temima CD music
CD $13.15  5 stars
Simon Hood was Born in Greenville, NC. at a time of great change in our country, he recalls being among the first generation of Americans growing up in a fully integrated society. Some of his first memories were of a 20 minute drive each morning to be dropped off at school by one of his aunts, who was a huge fan of Sam Cook and the L.T.D.'s. The interesting thing about that drive was listening to those great artist, the first thing in the morning. He said, "thank GOD my first class of the day was music because all I wanted to do was sing".

In Greenville, SC, his parents founded a successful day care center in the Nichol Town community where again Simon's love for music was nurtured by a piano that was purchased to assist the church choir prepare for performances. Simon says, "I use to sit at that piano and try to play songs I heard on the radio" so it comes as no surprise he's found his way to song writing.

In New Haven, CT, Simon and one of his cousins use to perform at area Break Dancing shows and battle in competitions which lead to a deep love of Hip-Hop. He began producing and writing Hip-Hop, and recording in world class studio's like (Bay Side Studio) in NY. the place where Hip-Hop pioneers like "Salt-N-Pepper" recorded. Then by chance he wanted to record, but dreaded the train ride to NY when he happened to come across a local New Haven studio. Where he met Glen Paige (DJ White Rock) who accidentally heard him sing during a session when a microphone believed to have been muted was actually live. Glen then asked Simon to join the R&B group "NAZYET".

Simon started his own production company Ringo D. Productions right out of high school. While that start up company ended few years later he learned a great deal about production, and song writing. He would say, "the best teacher in music is experience, sometimes you got to get in the deep water to swim".

After Ringo Productions he worked several years at the Underground Studio(made famous by EPMD's Eric Sermon) located on Peachtree St. in Atlanta Ga. were he built a network with other underground independent artist and producers. He has worked along side producers like Dent, Zack, PME and Jazzy Faye. He has produced for artist like Damian Hall ...

Dialogues
Dialogues CD  (2003)

Blues For Temima music CDs
CD $16.45
Dialogues is a disc of completely improvised music using melodic and rhythmic motifs from which to build improvisations. With the influence of Indian music, ambient, the ECM sound and free jazz, Dialogues has a "world" music quality while remaining on the cutting edge. The title track is reminiscent of 20th Century classical music and "Spontraneous" is a unique collage of themes by John Coltrane. The music on this CD is fine example of the sensitivity required to create improvised music that sounds pre-composed."Dialogues elaborates on an ordered, harmonious cosmos...These guys expand the concept of world music to take in aural concepts from the other side of the sun, and they do it in a way that seduces the senses." - Frank Rubolino, All About JazzBand Bios:Mark Merella - percussionMark Merella is a percussionist adept at both drum set and and hand percussion. He has worked with a variety of artists in the jazz and Latin fields including saxophonists Fred Foss and Rene McLean, trumpeter Tommy Williams and percussionist Steve Berrios co-founder of the Fort Apache Band. Mark has also worked with the groups Rumba Club, Mambo Combo, Ala Carte Brass & Percussion and as part of Havana Select he played for Celia Cruz's induction ...
