| | Neven Stereoscope CD - Import Neven Discography of CDs
After having worked successfully on the "Brussels-2000, European Cultural City" project, Neven was asked again by the city of Brussels to provide music for a new big project at the end of 2001. Due to the fact that trains weren't used much anymore for transportation, a huge building 'Tour et Taxis' was empty, unused and in bad shape. As it often happens, it takes a lot of paperwork and time to start renovations. So, while the building was empty, a very large and innovative modern art exposition was held. Together with German artist Annick Nölle, Neven worked on several projects within that exhibition. On the 'Stereoscope' enhanced-CD you will not only find the music for several videoinstallations, but also a video. Stereoscope album
$18.05 Little Boots, aka 24 year-old Blackpool native Victoria Hesketh), is proud to announce the release of her debut album. What started as a bit of fun (recording 'funtimes' covers in her pajamas) eventually led to homepage exposure on YouTube, racking up more than 250,000 views overnight. Claiming Little Boots as her moniker (the Latin name Caligula translates as "Little Boot"), Victoria eventually released her limited edition 7" single 'Meddle' to rapturous applause from every corner of the UK press. The white label Moroder-inspired 'Stuck on Repeat' and various remixes started popping up everywhere, making her one of the "most blogged about artists". In November '08, Jools Holland's producer took a chance booking a virtual unknown for what would become one of the most intriguing performances of the year. The only female to perform ...

| | Broadcast & The Focus Group Investigate Witch Cults Of The Radio Age CD (2009)
Stereoscope album
$10.09 Broadcast's music has always been a little unearthly, so BROADCAST & THE FOCUS GROUP INVESTIGATE WITCH CULTS OF THE RADIO AGE isn't so much a departure as it is an inspired homage to their influences. VALERIE AND HER WEEK OF WONDERS and its alternately innocent and menacing soundtrack inspired the band years before the movie was rediscovered. The whimsy and strangely familiar feel of '60s and '70s library music could also be heard in their music from the beginning, but never more clearly than on this mini-album. Broadcast's more esoteric side is heightened by the Focus Group, whose Ghost Box label is ground zero for the evocatively named "hauntology" micro-genre, which digs deep into vintage electronics and notions of what people thought the future would be like -- two things Broadcast have always done, even if they're not explicitly part of the hauntology crowd.

| | Front 242 Moments CDs (2008) Limited Edition
Stereoscope CD music
$25.85 Issued in 2008, MOMENTS. presents the veteran Belgian techno act Front 242 performing live. Given the band's mechanistic inclinations, the tracks on this set often sound like studio recordings, as evinced on the ominous "Until Death" (from 1988's FRONT BY FRONT) and the pulsing "Take One," a single dating back to the early `80s.

But growing up in northern California, the West has always been part of me, and no music is closer to my heart. The rhythms of the Big Bands, in which my dad played, echoed through the house, as did the blend of The Sons of the Pioneers following every Roy Rogers movie we saw. Their harmonies captured a longing in my soul for vast and distant horizons. After school in San Mateo I could walk over to the Borel Riding Stables, hire a horse and ride in the hills of the Coast Range, and the spell of the West grew with every family trip to the Rockies, the Sierras and the Black Hills. Like many boys of that time, in my heart I lived on that ranch on the big screen with Roy and The Sons of the Pioneers. Each summer between semesters at college, I set out to hitchhike through the West, seeking adventure, or maybe seeking that mythical ranch. Along the way I picked up work - helping a cowman build his home high up in the White Mountains of Arizona, picking fruit in a northern California valley, helping out at a lonely crossroads store. With enough pocket money, I’d take off again across the open country of the Dakotas, Montana, Wyoming, Nevada, Utah, New Mexico, Texas, finding back roads, little towns and big ranches. One memorable afternoon I found myself on the Cheyenne Reservation – strictly forbidden - among the descendants of those Cheyenne who had helped the Sioux wipe out Custer in 1876. A wrong turn had deposited me ...
