Live + 7 album
$6.25 With BIRTH OF THE COOL, Miles Davis distilled a new tonal palette for jazz. As early as 1954, Miles reacted to the escalating chordal complexity of hard bop by fashioning an evocative blues based on a simple scalar pattern ("Swing Spring"). KIND OF BLUE was the ultimate fulfillment of this approach, with Miles providing his collaborators little more than outlines for melodies and simple scales for improvisation. By emphasizing the blues and the improvisor's melodic gifts, KIND OF BLUE precipitated a major stylistic development--modal jazz.
Charles Mingus had experimented with pedal points throughout the 1950s, and the ...

$10.05 Michael Buble's third major US release (including the mostly live COME FLY WITH ME) stays on message--this young Canadian loves the lush, swaying music of his parents' and grandparents' generations. Buble's albums, however, are much more than mere back-in-the-day exercises. The production and arranging of David Foster (Celine Dion, Josh Groban) is eclectic ...

Live + 7 songs
$18.59 Recorded on April 20, 1973 and billed as the "2001: The Concert". The CD includes the concert in it's entirety for the first time, including 20 minutes of previously unreleased music.
The 1973 live album from Deodato/Airto features "Spirit of Summer" and "Parana..
Recorded live in the Felt Forum of New York City's Madison Square Garden in the wake of Deodato's massive 2001: A Space Odyssey hit, this album has a fairly confusing history. Only three selections, "Do It Again," "Spirit of Summer," and "Tropea" were released on the original slapped-together LP In Concert, and these were combined with Airto Moreira's "Parana" and "Branches," which were recorded at the same concert. In the CD-era, the LP was split up; Deodato's tracks were combined with four unreleased tunes from ...
| | Bun B Il Trill CD (2008) Edited
Live + 7 album
$15.89 Three years after his definitive solo debut, Bun B reminds listeners why he's among the strongest lyricists out of the South. Aside from a guestlist longer than Manute Bol, II TRILL benefits from impeccable production work throughout (courtesy of Clinton Sparks, JR Rotem, DJ Khalil, and the Blackout Movement, among others), as well as Bun's precise flow, commanding vocal presence, and straight-up skills. Super Producer Chops puts together one of the smoothest, down south funk tracks of all time for the monumental collaboration between Bun and Lil Wayne on "Damn, I'm Cold." Bun pays homage to his deceased partner Pimp C throughout II TRILL and reserves the heartfelt track "Angel in the Sky" as a personal eulogy. Z-Ro, J Prince, Sean Kingston, Lyfe Jennings, Junior Reid, Lil Razah, Juvenile, 8-Ball & MJG, and Lupe Fiasco are just some of the guests.
On his sophomore solo release, Bun B again proves why he's among the tightest lyricists in the Dirty South top. After making a number of rest-in-peace shouts to fallen partner Pimp C, Bun reserves the heartfelt track "Angel in the Sky" for a proper, articulated homage. II TRILL also features memorable collaborations with Lil Wayne on the slick, funk cut "Damn I'm Cold" and Junior Reid on "If It Was Up to Me." Swishahouse icon DJ O.G. Ron C handles the mix here-chopping and screwing each track in true H-Town fashion.
The years between Bun B's debut solo album -- 2005's Trill -- and the sequel -- 2008's II Trill -- were turbulent. His longtime friend and partner in UGK, Pimp C, saw release from prison in late 2005 only to die two years later from an accidental overdose of codeine and promethazine. In the middle of it all were Bun's hit solo singles like "Draped Up" and "Get Throwed" plus the well-received double album Underground Kingz, which found the reunited UGK topping the ...

| | Horde Hellig Usvart CD (2007)
Live + 7 music CDs
$15.09 10th Anniversary Edition of this absolute classic - includes bonus track and new layout. The one Black Metal CD, The CD that started the Christian Black Metal scene together with Antestor. This CD has a very interesting story, but I will not write down it here. The only thing really worth mentioning is that this CD is a one man project by the drummer Anonymous. The music here is some of the most primitive and raw Black Metal out there. It starts of with “A Church Bell Tolls Amidst the Frozen Nordic Winds”. It is about 1 minute with a church bell tolling with some windy sounds. Not really a song, but it works fine as intro. Then the grimness begins…Musically, this Horde delivers old-school raw Black Metal the way it was intended to be played, in the vein of old Mayhem and Dark throne. No keyboard or clean singing here, and I am not complaining. I have even read on a secular board that Horde "has got an evil feeling that Dimmu Borgir & co can only dream of”, which I guess tells a lot about the atmosphere on this “Hellig Usvart”. The second track, “Blasphemous Abomination of the Satanic Pentagram” is a Grind-Black track, not really a song either, but very aggressive. The third track, “Behold, the Rising Scarlet Moon is” is the first “real” song on this CD. It is a mid paced song, with some faster parts, although I must say this is the least interesting song. Next comes “Thine Hour Hast Come”, which is one of my favorite songs. It has a sort of “violent” feel about it. The screams on this song are amazing. I dare say that Anonymous has one of the best black metal vocals ever, along with Vrede of Antestor, and Jokull of Frosthardr. The lyrics deal with the falling of Lucifer, taken ...
