Tomb Raider: Underworld PS3 THQ and developer Volition's answer to Grand Theft Auto returns for another over-the-top outing with Saints Row 2. After being betrayed by your former crew and left to whither away in a vegetative state, you awaken with a singular purpose: to reclaim your territory one brick at a time. The setting is once again the fictitious city of Stilwater, where you'll rebuild the Saints gang and eliminate all rivals who dare lay claim to your turf. You'll now be able to customize your character in an assortment of ways, from modifying his (or her) appearance to decorating "cribs" to acquiring the latest and greatest in criminal couture. The action is viewed from a third-person perspective as you explore a free-roaming city filled with vehicles, pedestrians, and police officers. Weapons range from high-powered tools of destruction, such as a mini-gun, rocket-propelled grenade launcher, and flame-thrower, to offbeat armaments like a stun gun, chainsaw, and defibrillator. Previous visitors to Stilwater will notice the city has undergone several community-wide changes. Stilwater has grown in size and offers more things to see and do. The powerful Ultor Corporation has spent a considerable fortune in revitalizing the once stagnant city, and the business will become as much a hostile threat as the rival gangs you're looking to remove from power. New modes of transportation include motorcycles, boats, and aircraft. In addition to the main storyline, which features over 40 missions, Saints Row 2 includes various activities and "diversions" that involve racing, drug trafficking, going on rampages, and more. Combat also offers more options, from using human shields to firing weapons with precision targeting. The latter's "fine aim" technique switches the default perspective to an over-the-shoulder view. Saints Row 2 further distinguishes itself by including two-player cooperative action throughout the main campaign as well as competitive multiplayer modes via PlayStation Network. Saints Row 2 brings true freedom to open-world gaming. Players can play as who they want how they want and with whomever they want in this sequel to the much acclaimed and tremendously successful Saints Row. Tomb Raider: Underworld review Gamers return to the tropical archipelago of Banoi for more intense co-op zombie combat and open-world exploration in Dead Island Riptide. The four survivors from the original game -- washed-up rapper Sam B, hotel receptionist and Chinese spy Xian, former football player Logan, and Australian bodyguard Purna -- thought their nightmare was over when a helicopter took them to a nearby military ship. But a massive storm and another viral outbreak leave the quartet marooned once again, this time joined by Navy cook John Morgan on the fictional island of Palanai. As in the original game, users can take control of any of the playable characters, guide them through open environments, and gain experience points by completing missions and engaging in bloody combat with hordes of zombies. Melee weapons like axes, machetes, and clubs remain the primary means of defense in Riptide, but a variety of guns are also available and are particularly useful for the new hub missions, in which survivors protect a base from waves of zombie attackers. Multiplayer remains central to the Dead Island experience, with the main campaign letting up to four gamers drop in or out of co-op action at any time. The Dead Island heroes escaped in a helicopter to the safety of a military ship but when a furious storm hits and the virus suddenly spreads throughout the crew the nightmare starts all over again leaving hope drowning in the rising tides. They thought they had escaped the terrors of Banoi and survived the apocalypse on a corrupted paradise. Then their fate took a turn for the worse. Dead Island Riptide brings back the explosive mix of open-world gameplay co-op first-person action and RPG elements to fans worldwide. But when the young heroes discover the Light is exploiting Dr. Sandsmark's expertise to locate fragments of an ancient statue of legendary power they must race against time to save the planet from imminent disaster. In Young Justice: Legacy fans can look forward to an original storyline set in between Seasons 1 and 2 of the television series written in collaboration with show writers Greg Weisman and Brandon Vietti. The game is packed with fan favorite playable characters cameo appearances by popular Justice League heroes and villains and includes online multiplayer as well as local multiplayer modes.
