Tarana album
$11.99 The music of Dead Can Dance has long been a favorite of the "Goth" crowd; however, AION is really the first one of the band's records that can actually be called Gothic in the classic, renaissance sense. Arguably Dead Can Dance's most successful record, it contains the band's most consistent set of songs since SPLEEN AND IDEAL. Widening their view to encompass more of the ancient world than with earlier records, Dead Can Dance explore styles from Northern Europe ("The Song of the Sibyl") to the Middle East ("Radharc"), with stops along the way at a number of other surprising locations.
The fact that it ...

| | Israel Iz Kamakawiwo'Ole Alone In Iz World CD (2001)
Tarana music CDs
$13.29 While the name Israel Kamakawiwo'ole falls trippingly off few tongues, the Hawaiian singer better known as "Iz" was one of the biggest stars in his home state. Iz first came to public attention as a member of the popular Hawaiian group known as the Makaha Sons of Ni'ihau. His subsequent solo career brought even greater fame, and countless fans were saddened at his untimely death in 1997. Those who mourn his passing will be gladdened by the posthumous release of ALONE IN IZ WORLD, compiled from various recording session outtakes.
While one might expect a big, deep sound to emanate from a gargantuan-sized body like that of Iz, the hefty singer actually possessed ...

| | Bob Marley Catch A Fire: Deluxe Edition CDs (1973) Remastered; Deluxe Edition
Tarana album
$19.59 It is nearly impossible to imagine a time when reggae was not part of the cultural currency. Though Bob Marley and the Wailers cannot be said to have invented the style, they certainly brought it to the world stage, and this album was the torch that lit the way. CATCH A FIRE hit with the force of a revelation when it was released in 1973, and though Chris Blackwell tailored its sound with a rock audience in mind, the album was still unlike anything that had ever come down the pike. Ironically, even given its relatively full production and electric guitar solos, CATCH A FIRE sounds more organic and rootsy than any of the Wailers' subsequent releases.

Tarana songs
$14.19 "He uses space like an inner musical instrument." -Nat Hentoff, Wall Street Journal"In 2007 jazz vocalist Ed Reed released his debut CD at the ripe age of 78 and left the jazz scene with their jaws in their laps. His passion, talent, and musicality are unparalleled, and, with the help of producer Bud Spangler and musical director Peck Allmond, his career got a jumpstart with a debut album titled Ed Reed Sings Love Stories. "The album got major play on jazz radio stations across the country and was highlighted by being the most played new release in 2007 at KCSM FM 91, the San Francisco Bay Area's 24-hour jazz station. Why? Because it is great! Ed has what many jazz singers lack: a voice with a resonance and timbre like a tenor sax that articulates verses with a seasoned experience to tell a story like he lived it. "Now Ed delivers The Song Is You, a new work that like the Watts Towers reaches for the sky with brilliant musical objects he has caressed all his life - whether in a prison ...
