(1 Customer Review)
Contemporary reggae singer Gyptian blends his love of classic roots reggae with urban contemporary R&B on 2008's I CAN FEEL YOUR PAIN. While the singer shows he's capable of stirring protest music on tracks like "Keep You Calm" and "Nobody No Cry," he seems most comfortable on smoothed out, R&B-drenched songs like the title track and "Thanks and Praise." In addition to showcasing his emotive falsetto, these cuts prove Gyptian capable of achieving an effective R&B/reggae fusion while making an equally compelling bid for crossover success.

I Can Feel Your Pain album
$10.45 STARS is a collection containing several different single versions, new edits and 2 previously unreleased tracks.
After hitting the top of the U.S, alternative charts with their debut album, EVERYONE ELSE IS DOING IT SO WHY CAN'T WE?, with its inescapable hit singles "Dreams" and "Linger," the Cranberries could easily have carved out a career staying with that initial sound, one that came off like a much more commercial version of the Cocteau Twins. That they ...

| | Mannish Boys Lowdown Feelin' CD (2008)
I Can Feel Your Pain album
$13.79 There are no fewer than 20 musicians contributing to the Mannish Boys' fourth release, which makes this album more the product of a collective or revue than an actual band. Despite the players changing on nearly every tune, this is nevertheless a strong and surprisingly cohesive set of Chicago styled blues originals and a few choice covers that click due to the talents of those involved. Producer and label owner Randy Chortkoff emphasizes that there is no digital recording involved and few overdubs, which makes for a rootsy, down-home blues stew that breathes. Veteran singer Finis Tasby only appears on three tracks but one of them, a cover of "If the Washing Don't Get You, the Rinsing Will," (best known from Albert King's version), featuring a stinging guitar solo from Kirk "Eli" Fletcher, is one of this disc's highlights. Old-school harpist/vocalist Little Sammy Davis joins to cover two of his own songs and is a classy addition to the revolving door lineup. Covers of Billy "The Kid" Emerson's "The Woodchuck," Texas Pete Mayes' title track, and Howlin' Wolf's obscure pre-Chess recording "Chocolate Drop" show how deep this ...

| | Compound Muradzikwa Chipendani Music From Zimbabwe CD (2007)
I Can Feel Your Pain CD music
$20.25 On this album, Sekuru Compound Muradzikwa shares his unique style of performance on the Zimbabwean chipendani, or mouthbow. Compiled from a series of field recordings made by Jennifer Kyker at the Imire Game Park, where Sekuru Muradzikwa has been employed as a security guard for over twenty years, the album also includes a rare recording of the dzikamunhenga groundbow, also played by Sekuru Muradzikwa. Sekuru Compound Muradzikwa was born in 1943 in Buhera, and began playing chipendani in 1955. His grandfather, who also played chipendani, initially refused to teach him. However, Sekuru Muradzikwa's desire to learn to play was so strong that as a young herdboy, he attempted to make and play instruments of bark twisted into string. While his grandfather worked in the fields, Sekuru Muradzikwa also snuck into his house to steal his chipendani to practice on. Upon discovering this, his grandfather finally agreed to teach him. However, only six months later he fell ...
