Mehbooba DVD
$16.29 German youngsters are inducted into the enticing, forlorn world of adult sexuality in SCHOOLGIRL REPORT. An uncomfortable international hit, the 1970s pseudo-documentary series presented high school as a feverish bacchanalia in which the quest for orgasm trumped all concern for class exams or finding a good college. Its journalistic trappings (including man-on-the-street interviews, psychological experts, and a tone of parental concern) helped protect it from obscenity charges, and lent the films a seedy verisimilitude that foretold the explosion of reality TV and gonzo porn.
This fourth film captures more coming-of-age encounters between the sexes that run ...

RAB NE BANA DI JODI is only the third film directed by Aditya Chopra, who also helmed MOHABBATEIN (2000) and DILWALE DULHANIA LE JAYENGE, a 1995 film that has become a touchstone for generations of Bollywood fans. The not-so-secret weapon Chopra has relied on for all three films is superstar Shahrukh Khan, whose physical grace and charm seem boundless and whose irrepressible desire to make audiences love him will surely be requited again in RAB NE BANA DI JODI. Khan plays Surinder, a good-hearted engineer with uncool glasses and an unfortunate moustache, recently married to Taani (newcomer Anushka Sharma, in a nicely nuanced performance). They barely know each other. Taani, depressed over the sudden deaths of her first fiance and her father, insists that she can never love Surinder. Surinder's fumbling, besotted tenderness is endearing as he marches to his cubicle conspicuously bearing the lunch prepared by his new wife; Shahrukh's effortless comic timing also makes the engineer's unrequited adoration hilarious. When Taani decides to enter a dance contest, Surinder invents a secret identity, Raj, and becomes her partner. Raj, a flirtatious hipster in entertainingly appalling t-shirts, is a familiar Shahrukh goofball (even ...

$22.59 Clashing cultures and longing hearts collide in director James Dodson's THE OTHER END OF THE LINE, a charming comedy about global love connections. As the film opens we meet Granger Woodruff (Jesse Metcalfe of DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES), an advertising hotshot desperate to win over a demanding new client (Larry Miller). Halfway around the world, someone else is taking an active interest in Granger: Priya Sethi (Bollywood star Shriya Saran), an India-based service rep for one of Granger's credit cards. When Priya--pretending to be San Franciscan "Jennifer David"--contacts Granger about fraudulent charges, they strike up a casual flirtation that causes both to question their respective romantic prospects: he, a diva-like girlfriend (Sara Foster); she, an arranged marriage to a mama's boy of a suitor. Priya impulsively accepts Granger's invitation to meet her in San Francisco, where she accidentally meets him not as her alter ego but as her idealistic self. But with Priya's traditionalist family and Granger's domineering girlfriend in hot ...

$23.39 A trio of acclaimed actors--Amy Adams of ENCHANTED, Emily Blunt of THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA, and Oscar winner Alan Arkin--add sparkle to this comedy. Rose Lorkowski used to shine as a high school cheerleader, but her current career as a maid isn't bringing in enough money to create the life she wants for her young son. Joined by her sister Norah, who has seen better times herself, Rose parlays her skills into cleaning crime scenes under the cheery name Sunshine Cleaning.
From the producers of LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE comes the charming Sundance hit SUNSHINE CLEANING, a spirited comedy-drama starring Amy Adams (DOUBT, ENCHANTED) as single-mom Rose Lorkowski, a plucky ex-cheerleader now cleaning houses and having an affair with her high-school sweetheart, Mac (Steve Zahn). When Mac, a police detective, suggests the lucrative job opportunities in crime-scene cleanup, Rose enlists her sister, Norah (Emily Blunt), to join her in the gory but ultimately fulfilling business enterprise. The sisterly chemistry between Adams and Blunt is impressive and forms the crux of their characters' growth throughout the film: Rose’s optimism--reciting self-affirmations and positive spins on her occupation ("It’s a growth industry")--complements Norah’s cynical, wickedly humorous exterior, which hides her bruised, vulnerable heart. Rounding out this likable cast is Alan Arkin, appearing as Joe, ...
