My Chinese Coash is designed to help you increase your Chinese comprehension, vocabulary writing, and conversation skills-all while playing games and having fun. You'll be surprised by how quickly you'll learn and how much you retain just after 10 to 15 minutes a day, and the sky's the limit with around 10,000 vocabulary words, 1,500 phrases and 1000 lessons contained in the program. I have started to learn Chinese 2 years ago. So, I was very excited to buy the game and have fun with it. If fact, that's all you can really do with it: have fun.
CHARACTERS LEARNING
Forget about "My chinese coach" if you plan to learn how to write, the characters are writtent in light speed and you have to guess what is the order. Plus, they often choose the most difficult character to write at first!
PINYIN
That, I was already very good at it... I can tell you that nobody can learn PINYIN just using this software.
GAMES
Two words: boring, boring and, most importantly, teach you nothing! Again, characters are written too fast, you cannot disable the timer in any game and there is no point in trying to knock some animal to learn a language.
PRESENTATION
Unless you wear magnify glasses, forget about recognizing the charaters with many strokes... it's impossible.
CONCLUSION
I think the game has potential, but you have to sit and really rethink all the course. Please, developpers, don't just copy the other language interface, that just don't work with chinese!
