Andre's Choice:Around The World CD - Import

Beginning with the most global of all waltzes - Johann Strauss's Music of the Spheres, this CD is a snapshot of the many lands Andr‚'s music has taken him to, and to which he pays tribute. The Girl from Ipanema and Granada are two Latin perennials. Italiana is a medley of Respighi tunes, and La Montanara and Vieni sul mar pay further tribute to Italy. The French medley beginning with La Vie en rose brings three favourites from that land. KetŠlbey's In a Persian Market is a tribute to the orient, complete with bazaar and colourful costumes. Far from home - a reworking of the central section of Dvor k's symphony `From the New World' introduces a sense of nostalgia and longing, as does the following track, Scarborough Fair, made all the more so by the beautiful voice of Mirusia weaving in and out of Andr‚'s violin. And there's a tribute to Andr‚'s new adopted homeland, of course, with I Still Call Australia Home.
