| | Keith Urban Greatest Hits CD Keith Urban Discography of CDs
(2 Customer Reviews)
Released following a string of personal problems that landed the formerly clean-cut Australian cowboy on the pages of gossip magazines the world over, GREATEST HITS was a chance for Keith Urban to sweep the decks and start fresh. This 18-track anthology contains all Urban's hit singles and a pair of new songs, a full-band remake of the previously solo tune "Got It Right This Time (The Celebration)," and a swell banjo-powered cover of Steve Forbert's late-1970s soft-rock masterpiece, "Romeo's Tune."
Urban has long been one of the few contemporary Nashville country stars whose taste for old-fashioned rock seems genuine, as proven by many of the earlier hits found here. Highlights include the sly "Who Wouldn't Wanna Be Me" and the wistful "Where the Blacktop Ends." GREATEST HITS was also released in a special limited-edition version that includes a bonus DVD of live tracks and music videos.
Additional Tracks
GREATEST HITS: 19 KIDS is a slightly expanded version of the similarly named GREATEST HITS: 18 KIDS, originally released in the fall of 2007. This version adds Urban's 2008 single, "You Look Good In My Shirt," but is otherwise identical to the original release, down to the cover art. Highlights include a solid version of Steve Forbert's 1979 hit, "Romeo's Tune," and a remake of "Got It Right This Time (A Celebration)," a song originally written for his marriage to actress Nicole Kidman.

Greatest Hits album
$10.45 THE BEST OF THE MOODY BLUES contains vintage photographs and a conversation with Justin Hayward.
Recorded between 1964 and 1988. Includes liner notes by John Reed.
By keeping it simple and sticking to the hits, this collection successfully relates the story of this pioneering band. The Moody Blues began as a Gerry & the Pacemakers-like, R&B-influenced band fronted by sad-voiced singer Denny Laine, who is heard here on "Go Now." Laine was replaced by Justin Hayward, keyboardist Mike Pinder brought in a Mellotron, and the band hooked up with the London Symphony Orchestra to make the first orchestral-rock album DAYS OF FUTURE PASSED, from which "Tuesday Afternoon" and "Nights in White Satin" are included on this album.
Over the next few years the band banged out several gem albums that were full of a distinctive mix of folk-tinged ballads and ambitious prog-rock. Cuts from this period ...
| | Brad Paisley Time Well Wasted CD (2005)
Greatest Hits CD music
$9.59 Brad Paisley's music is an interesting amalgam of country sub-genres, a paradigm all its own. He melds straightforward, pop-friendly New Country with clever, somewhat Lyle Lovett-like songwriting and the occasional flutter of Joe Maphis/Jimmy Bryant-style guitar virtuosity. Surprisingly or not, this country combo platter made Paisley a star, and TIME WELL WASTED continues in the aforementioned vein. While there are some fairly mainstream moments here that wouldn't ruffle the feathers of, say, the average Kenny Chesney fan, WASTED boasts plenty of smart, sassy tunes brimming with lyrical witticisms worthy of Tom T. Hall or Shel Silverstein. "Alcohol," for example, is a first-person narrative from the beverage's point of view, and in retrospect it's shocking that it took this long to get written. Guest shots from both Dolly Parton and Alan Jackson show that Paisley's work has earned respect from disparate corners of the country scene, ...

| | Garth Brooks Ultimate Hits CDs (2007) With DVD
Greatest Hits songs
$12.35 For a period in the early 1990s, Garth Brooks was not only the biggest star in country music, he was one of the biggest stars in music, period. An unassuming Oklahoman who fused the blue-collar ethic of new traditionalist country with an unapologetic pop side that drew on his love of 1970s rockers like Kiss and Billy Joel, Garth Brooks fundamentally changed the sound of mainstream country music in much the same way that Hank Williams had in the 1940s and Patsy Cline had in the 1950s. THE ULTIMATE HITS, a three-disc collection that is the first comprehensive career overview for Brooks, contains all of his most beloved songs in remastered sound, ...

| | Keith Urban Defying Gravity CD (2009)
Greatest Hits CD music
$12.99 Keith Urban's 2006 album, LOVE, PAIN AND THE WHOLE CRAZY THING, was an extremely personal album chronicling a period of personal upheaval both good (his marriage to actress Nicole Kidman) and bad (just prior to the album's release, the singer entered rehab for unspecified addictions), and although it was a success by most commercial ...

| | Harms CD (2008)
Greatest Hits songs
$10.25 Harms was formed by musicians Michael Kozitka and Jay Botka. Both seasoned recording engineers, they met while working in a Chicago area studio. Kozitka quickly noticed that Botka’s talents extended well beyond the engineer’s side of the studio glass. He asked Botka to add keyboards to a slow song which until then consisted only of Kozitka’s vocals and acoustic guitar strumming. That song grew to become the Byzantine soundscape of the closing track, “This Year.” Harms’ music consists of poignant songs propelled by inventive, driving and danceable electronic drum programming. Rather than simplistic, repetitive beats, there are layered rhythms punctuated with cymbal-bashing fills and snare rolls that show a strong rock influence. Combine this rhythmic collage with the abundant live guitars, keyboards and vocals and the lines between musical genres continue to blur. Kozitka and Botka change instruments frequently, resulting in ...
