Released following a string of personal problems that landed the formerly clean-cut Australian cowboy on the pages of gossip magazines the world over, GREATEST HITS was a chance for Keith Urban to sweep the decks and start fresh. This 18-track anthology contains all Urban's hit singles and a pair of new songs, a full-band remake of the previously solo tune "Got It Right This Time (The Celebration)," and a swell banjo-powered cover of Steve Forbert's late-1970s soft-rock masterpiece, "Romeo's Tune."
Urban has long been one of the few contemporary Nashville country stars whose taste for old-fashioned rock seems genuine, as proven by many of the earlier hits found here. Highlights include the sly "Who Wouldn't Wanna Be Me" and the wistful "Where the Blacktop Ends." GREATEST HITS was also released in a special limited-edition version that includes a bonus DVD of live tracks and music videos.

GREATEST HITS: 19 KIDS is a slightly expanded version of the similarly named GREATEST HITS: 18 KIDS, originally released in the fall of 2007. This version adds Urban's 2008 single, "You Look Good In My Shirt," but is otherwise identical to the original release, down to the cover art. Highlights include a solid version of Steve Forbert's 1979 hit, "Romeo's Tune," and a remake of "Got It Right This Time (A Celebration)," a song originally written for his marriage to actress Nicole Kidman.

By keeping it simple and sticking to the hits, this collection successfully relates the story of this pioneering band. The Moody Blues began as a Gerry & the Pacemakers-like, R&B-influenced band fronted by sad-voiced singer Denny Laine, who is heard here on "Go Now." Laine was replaced by Justin Hayward, keyboardist Mike Pinder brought in a Mellotron, and the band hooked up with the London Symphony Orchestra to make the first orchestral-rock album DAYS OF FUTURE PASSED, from which "Tuesday Afternoon" and "Nights in White Satin" are included on this album.

Brad Paisley's music is an interesting amalgam of country sub-genres, a paradigm all its own. He melds straightforward, pop-friendly New Country with clever, somewhat Lyle Lovett-like songwriting and the occasional flutter of Joe Maphis/Jimmy Bryant-style guitar virtuosity. Harms was formed by musicians Michael Kozitka and Jay Botka. Both seasoned recording engineers, they met while working in a Chicago area studio. Kozitka quickly noticed that Botka’s talents extended well beyond the engineer’s side of the studio glass.
