(1 Customer Review)
This concert recording from the 1972-'73 tour by '60s/'70s hit machine Three Dog Night is called GREATEST HITS LIVE for a reason. It's like a blow-by-blow account of their domination of the pop charts. An extra element of energy and urgency is added to the tunes here, as the vocal trio launches into hearty, soulful versions of songs by the era's premier songsmiths, like Randy Newman ("Mama Told Me Not to Come"), Hoyt Axton ("Joy to the World"), and Laura Nyro ("Eli's Coming").

$17.19 Recorded in 1977, 1980, 1996 and 1999. Includes liner notes by Colin Escott.
While the album's title is deceiving -- all but five of the 18 tracks on this double disc originate from the '90s, and 11 of those are from the same show -- this is an adequate, well-recorded document of both the original and re-formed versions of Foghat running through their established repertoire. It also works as a tribute to Lonesome Dave Peverett, the group's lead singer and primary songwriter, who died of cancer ...

Greatest Hits Live songs
$6.79 Before David Gilmour virtually "became" Pink Floyd he was always the most likely member of the band (with the possible exception of de-facto leader Roger Waters) to release a solo album. 1978's welcome eponymous debut showcased his multi-faceted performing talents.
The album opener "Mihalis" is an ANIMALS period instrumental, which, along with "Raise My Rent," sounds ...

Greatest Hits Live CD music
$14.42 Dismissed by the benighted as the Doors' "pop album," SOFT PARADE is one of the band's most adventurous recordings, utilizing strings and horns without resorting to schlocky over-production and moving far beyond their blues roots. Morrison was fully into his shaman phase by 1969, and his obsession with that image is reflected in the proselytizing ...

$19.99 Guitar Idol 2008 was conceived as an online worldwide talent search to find the next generation of Guitar Heroes… and boy did it deliver! Already the biggest guitar competition in history, between March 21st 2008 and the Live Grand Final on June 14th 2008 almost half a million people visited, voted or entered the competition. On June 14th thousands of guitar fans witnessed 12 future guitar stars do battle with a crack live band on the main stage at The London International Music Show to be crowned ‘Guitar Idol 2008’. In late 2007 Alloutguitar.com, Licklibrary.com and the UK’s Guitar Buyer magazine sat down and decided the time was right to launch a new international guitarist talent search – one that for the first time utilised the Internet, by having contestants upload their video or audio entries at www.guitar-idol.co.uk to then be voted and discussed by guitar fans worldwide. With the massive resurgence of guitar playing, from metal to blues to the new acoustic masters, we all thought this could be big… but not this big! Visitors to the website crossed all cultural and national divides – not only from the US and Europe but places as diverse as Nepal, Iraq and Siberia! With nearly 1000 contestants truly spanning the globe, the standard was overwhelmingly high. Eventually with a combination of public votes and a panel of industry professionals, 12 outstanding Finalists were chosen. Finalists Gustavo di Padua, Gustavo Guerra and Fernando Miyata flew in from the ‘new home of shred’ Brazil, Peter Petchalov from Russia, Chris Feener from Canada, Muris Varajic from Bosnia and Daniele Gottardo from Italy. The UK was represented by Jas Morris, Tom Qualye, Ben Randall, the one-handed phenomenon Marc ...
