Comprised of 18 tracks culled from the singer/composer's first three decades, The Very Best of Enya was pieced together by the artist herself, along with longtime collaborators Nicky and Roma Ryan. Luckily, the trio seems enamored by most of the same songs that the general public is, resulting in one of those rare "greatest-hits" collections that goes deep without depriving the listener of the essentials. With tunes like "Orinoco Flow," "Caribbean Blue," and "Book of Days" in the pot and out of the way, it's easier to appreciate hidden gems like "Cursum Perficio," "Boadicea," "Trains and Winter Rains," and "Anywhere Is." Big Big Train is an independent progressive rock band which has been described as 'one of the great, unsung bands of British prog' (Sonic Bond) which 'continues to plough its own considerable furrow without the aid of label support' (Guitar and Bass). Their first album, Goodbye to the Age of Steam was released in 1994 and was co-produced by Martin Orford of IQ. Age of Steam established the typical melancholy BBT sound influenced by progressive rock from the mid and early 1970s.After two releases which were slightly more commercially orientated BBT went back to their roots in 2004 and released a concept album called Gathering Speed. This album featured layers of 12-string guitar and Mellotron and also hints at a growing Post Rock influence. Critical acclaim:Gathering Speed is about a pilot shot down in 1940 during the Battle of Britain, beautifully described by great sounds, excellent melodies and fantastic atmospheres. A crossover artist in the truest sense, Rogers isn't just combining styles on THERE YOU AGAIN, he's fusing them into a new paradigm that can only be described as Kenny Rogers music.
