| | Cedarwell Smoky Mountain Bear CD Cedarwell Discography of CDs
A man and his dog. They go for a hike. Holy Smokes! It\'s a bear!!!!Weaving richly textured layers of sound, yet remaining undeniably sparse, Cedarwell\'s \"Smoky Mountain Bear\" is a meditative self-confrontation that is raw with mournful honesty and rife with expansive landscape imagery. It is their second full length cd and couldnt have come soon enough. Cedarwell’s Erik Neave well embodies his northern heritage. Sheboygan, Wisconsin, should be proud of such a wonderfully full beard, such tough flannel shirts and darkly twisted, acoustic-pop songs that seem to ride nature’s very rhythm. Crisp clarity and addicting genuineness hibernate Neave’s voice somewhere in the back of your memory, somewhere where it can stay for a long, long time, constantly reminding you that this is Wisconsin, and winter never really ends. Smoky Mountain Bear music CDs
$10.75 Hope Sandoval basically disappeared from the scene following the release of 2001's BAVARIAN FRUIT BREAD. That album's tender and spooky folk seemed like a nice beginning for her post-Mazzy Star career and her musical partnership with ex-My Bloody Valentine drummer Colm O'Ciosoig promised more goodness to come. But it wasn't until 2009's THROUGH THE DEVIL SOFTLY that the duo reappeared. The album showed that not much had changed musically for them. The hazy, slow motion feel of the music here is of a piece with Sandoval's body of work, the restraint and careful placement of instruments is equally as effective and the songs are haunting, perhaps even more so. Most of all, there's Sandoval's voice, which is as beguiling and bewitching as ever. She makes everything sound like it was recorded at 2:00 AM in the middle of the kind of dream you never want to wake up from. If you look a little ...

Smoky Mountain Bear album
$6.79 As of the late 1990s, guitarist and fiddler David Bromberg was in musical semi-retirement, supplementing his day job (making his living buying and selling American-made violins) with the odd club gig. But in the 1970s, he had a thriving career as both a bandleader and a sideman, having played on seminal recordings by Bob Dylan, the Eagles, and Jerry Jeff Walker, among others. This disc includes two of his early albums: first, the acoustic ...

| | Ginny Blankenship To Touch The Earth CD (2008)
Smoky Mountain Bear music CDs
$16.45 My name is Ginny Blankenship. I’ve been in music off and on for years and never really thought I could write a song, never gave it too much thought until a few years ago. To Touch the earth was born and then a couple of years later the rest of the songs came about. I’m also an artist, do energy healing work and so my life is quite busy. Some of the songs came about in a long drive across the country. I would carry a small hand recorder and when some words or tunes came to mind I would record it. I have a lot of passion about things I believe in and I wanted to get the message out. I play acoustic bass guitar and used that to get the chords and rhythm of the songs. All my life I’ve been close to the land. I was raised in the country on a farm, youngest of eight children. There was a lot of commotion with that many siblings and I often found myself retreating to the woods or hiding underneath a big yellow bush. I remember the smell of the earth after a fresh rain and always took note of the bird songs and all God’s creatures. After I married I continued to live in the country and my love continued to grow for this incredible planet. I now have three grown children and two of whom are professional Naturalists. So naturally my education grew as well. It can be quite educational to canoe down the river with not two but three Naturalists ( son in law)accompanying you. I still reside on a farm that has been partially converted into an Environmental learning Center. My daughter and son in law are co-founders of this 501 c3 non-profit learning center, Earth’s Classroom, geared mostly towards children. We have seen nearly 31,000 children so far in the last 7 years. I help with the Native American program with singing, drumming and education on the Native American culture and spiritual beliefs. It is most rewarding to educate children and adults in appreciation of the rich culture that the Natives of this land held dear. A culture and belief system that I too hold dear and have practiced for years. The first song on the CD, Seminole Wind, I fell in love with the first time I heard it. I connected to it instantly. The second song, Heal with the one you hurt with, is a song that I wrote in hopes of easing the pain that I often see in peoples faces, especially in the healing work that I do. The third song, To Touch the Earth, is the first song that I wrote. In it is a lot heart about my love of this earth and concern for her healing. The fourth song, Mystical Eyes, is about the crystal children and indigo children entering now and their message to the people of the earth. The song was inspired by a book “ Emissaries of Love” written by James Twyman. The first verse I related to my grandson. The fifth song, Golden Eyed brother, is of my love for the wolf and that feeling of connection to all living things. A belief strongly embedded in my soul. The sixth song is one of my favorites as I describe the results of a conversation ...
