Standard Screen; Widescreen; Soundtrack English; Soundtrack French; English Subtitles; French Subtitles; Blue Ray HD-DVD In the aftermath of a bacteriological war, the future of mankind hangs in the balance. Only a chosen few have survived the mutating effects of germ warfare unharmed. A small enclave of healthy, stalwart resistors has formed a camp where, for the moment, they live peacefully. The other human survivors are terribly disfigured mutants who walk the earth at night in search of prey. The last survivor of germ warfare hides from nocturnal mutants in a fortified mansion, gathering supplies by day from a deserted L.A. whose streets are strewn with the post-apocalyptic flotsam of the super-funky '70s. Based on Richard Matheson's novel I AM A LEGEND, made before as THE LAST MAN ON EARTH (1964) with Vincent Price. Omega Man Reviews: 3 stars out of 5 -- "[An] agreeably funky refit, which is part post-apocalyptic thriller, part requiem for the '60s."-- William Thomas, Empire Omega Man | List Price | $19.92 (You save $6.83) | | Studio | Warner Home Video | | Orig Year | 1971 | | All Time Sales Rank | 46005 | | CD Universe Part number | 7726960 | | Catalog number | 1000037294 | | Discs | 1 | | Release Date | Dec 18, 2007 | | Rating | Not Rated | | Additional Info | Full Frame; Widescreen; Dubbed; Subtitled | | Movie Details | Color; Full Frame; Widescreen; Dubbed; Subtitled |
Omega Man Movie Review Classic Sci-Fi I have to admit I preferred the latest version with Will Smith. But I think Charlton Heston does a good job. The story line has a few flaws, but I liked it. Omega is great This has the same basic storyline as Will Smith's Legend. Omega being an earlier version does not have the CG effects, but the storyline as more subplot to it that speak not only to that time period, but to today as well. It's the 70's... Man I first saw this movie a few years after its release. Good theme, but the action is dated. Stunt double is very evident. I was disapointed by the editing of the downtown driving scene where a man in the background is seen window shopping. Submitted by Art (Whittier, CA, USA) Was This Review Helpful? | | Polar Express Blu-ray (2004) 4 Sets Of 3-D Glasses
Omega Man movie DVD
$29.79 Director Robert Zemeckis revolutionized the art of animated film in 1998's WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT by dropping cartoon characters into the same frame with flesh-and-blood actors. In THE POLAR EXPRESS, live action and animation have merged seamlessly, resulting in sparkling super-realism. A landmark technique Zemeckis and his Sony Pictures Imageworks team call "Performance Capture" perfectly suits the tenor of this wondrous children's Christmas story by Chris Van Allsburg. A disillusioned little boy, just old enough to doubt the existence of Santa Claus, has the adventure of a lifetime one fateful Christmas Eve. Clad in his pajamas, he climbs aboard a magic train to the North Pole, driven by a kindly train conductor (voiced by Tom Hanks who starred in both of Zemeckis's Academy-Award winning films FORREST GUMP and CASTAWAY). Among myriad jaw-dropping moments, the train plummets brakeless through crystalline mountains in a simulated roller coaster ride. Going off the rails, skidding sideways, and snaking violently across a frozen lake, the train arrives at the North Pole (a vast, glowing city of brick buildings). ...

Omega Man video
$33.65 With 2008's KUNG FU PANDA, the talking-animal CGI film enters a new era, one that makes room for both painterly artwork and fierce martial-arts action. Po (voiced by Jack Black), a clumsy and ever-hungry panda, is a huge kung fu fan, but seems destined to sell noodles like his father, Mr. Ping (James Hong), who inexplicably happens to be a goose. When Po literally crashes a ceremony involving martial-arts masters Shifu (Dustin Hoffman) and Oogway (Randall Duk Kim) and their pupils, the Furious Five--which includes Tigress (Angelina Jolie, in a surprisingly small part) and Crane (David Cross)--he ends up being selected by the latter elder as the revered Dragon Warrior. As the skeptical Shifu reluctantly trains the hapless Po, his former star pupil, Tai Lung (Ian McShane), escapes from a ...

| | X-Files: I Want To Believe Blu-ray (2008) Widescreen; Dubbed; Subtitled
Omega Man review
$32.09 For the devoted viewers of THE X-FILES, there can be few things more exciting than hearing the familiar notes of Mark Snow's theme song at the beginning of THE X-FILES: I WANT TO BELIEVE. This cinematic follow-up to the series picks up years after it ended, but the characters are still the same ones that audiences loved. Fans who followed the show religiously (and was there any other way to watch it?) won't be surprised to learn that Mulder (David Duchovny) is currently living in hiding, still researching the paranormal while he grows a shaggy beard. Meanwhile, Scully (Gillian Anderson) is working as a doctor at a Catholic hospital. When an F.B.I. agent goes missing, the bureau calls on the pair to return to their old work. The paranormal element of their case is found in Father Joe (Billy Connolly), a former priest who is having psychic visions and leading the team from the F.B.I. to evidence to help them solve their case. Mulder and Scully return to their roles of believer and skeptic as they join in the search.
Just as in the show, I WANT TO BELIEVE is a genre-bender that combines science fiction, horror, and thriller. In fact, the film seems like a two-part episode of the show--and that's meant as a compliment. Though six years have passed since ...

Omega Man DVD
$23.89 In this spoof of Hollywood blockbusters, director and screenwriter Craig Mazin (THE SPECIALS) tackles the age-old story of a regular guy who suddenly finds that he possesses super powers. Ricky Riker (Drake Bell) is a typical teenager, except that his luck is worse then most. Basically, he's a loser. He's been in love with beautiful Jill (Sara Paxton) for years, but is sure she doesn't know he exists. Even his techie best friend, Trey (Kevin Hart), is willing to throw him over for another clique. But Rick's life changes dramatically when a genetically enhanced dragonfly bites him during a school field trip. In a flash, he becomes the Dragonfly. He can scale buildings, and has immense strength--though he's still a klutz. Rick isn't sure he has what it takes to be a superhero, but it's up to him to save the city from the villainous Hourglass (Christopher McDonald), who literally sucks the life out of people, and threatens to harm those dearest to Rick.
Mazin, who was one of the screenwriters for both SCARY MOVIE 3 and SCARY MOVIE 4, spoofs a gamut of superheroes, ...
