| an ending that is a little unexpected, funny, and fitting
Stalag Luft movie also bought for my father. this one is pretty funny. prisoners of war take over a pow camp and become worse than the nazis.

Britain's top comic talents are behind this sharply-observed comedy drama set in a POW camp in Germany. Stephen Fry (Jeeves & Wooster) is the arrogant RAF Officer James Forrester, Nicholas Lyndhurst (The Piglet Files) stars as the insubordinate "Chump" Cosgrove and Geoffrey Palmer (As Time Goes By) is the twitchy Camp Kommandant.
In a spoof of the great wartime escape movies, arrogant RAF Officer James Forrester, who has 23 escape attempts to his name and zero escapes, plans the Big One, the escape of all 327 prisoners from the camp. The only problem is he expects them to escape all at once...
Stalag Luft won the Ivor Novello Award for Television Theme Music in 1994, given posthumously to composer Stanley Myers.
