The Modern West Coast Rap
I just bought the deluxe CD today. There's not one track that doesn't sound right or doesn't fit in with the rest of the album. All of the beats were awesome. Amazing production for Game. Jayceon took his work to another level with what he did on LAX. The originality on tracks like Dope Boys (Travis Barker on the drums), Never Can Say Goodbye (tribute to Pac, Biggie, Eazy), and how he brings you back to the early 90s with his lyricism in tracks like Game's Pain and Cali Sunshine is amazing to say the least.
LAX is on another level than that of The Documentary and The Doctor's Advocate. You see Game's advancing lyrical skills shine through, and you really feel like you're in (insert song here). LAX brings you back to the days of Pac, Biggie, Eazy, Snoop, Dre, Public Enemy, Cube, etc. And Game solidifies himself on the level of those listed. He is indeed THE king of the West, and quite possibly, the king of Rap.
