| | Marshall Clary Nashville Sings Christian Country CD (2008)
Trip To Taxas CD music
$14.79 “Nashville Sings Christian Country” is the second CD of songs written by Marshall Clary and the first CD of Marshall’s songs recorded in Nashville, TN.The artists on this CD include established stars of the Grand Ole Op’ry along with a few new Nashville-based artists. The studio musicians who accompany the vocal artists include some of the most sought-after country musicians in Nashville. Some of these musicians have accompanied mega-artists such as Randy Travis, Garth Brooks, and others when they recorded some of their biggest hits. All of the lyrics and music for the songs on this CD were written by Marshall Clary except for one song, “Jesus, Do You Really Care?” The music for that song was written by Marshall’s son, Erik M. Clary, who then asked his Dad to write the lyrics. The COPYRIGHT for each song on this CD is owned by Marshall D. Clary. This “Nashville Sings Christian Country” CD was recorded on Music Row in Nashville, TN in 1992. The songs on the CD were written over many years as Marshall pursued a career in computer systems, corporate management, and entrepreneurial business with no intent to ever have his songs recorded and released. As the years passed, Marshall’s stack of songs remained in his head or in rough notes in his piano bench. Many of the songs that Marshall writes emerge from life experiences, from personal relationships, or from his faith in Jesus Christ and God’s Word. Most of them were written when an idea, a chord, a musical riff, or a lyrical phrase somehow came to mind and spawned a creative spark that became a melody and a lyric. Upon early retirement, Marshall set a goal of having his songs recorded and released, even though they had been around for years without having been played or sung for anybody else. The song that took the longest to write was “Having You With Me” that began on an airplane returning from a civilian job in South Vietnam during the war there in 1968. The first verse for this song was written in Marshall’s head as he stared out the window at the Philippine Islands far below. It remained untouched in his head for 20 years until he finally wrote a second and third verse for this song. After 22 years this song was performed by two different artists on two of Marshall’s CDs. The first version of this song was performed by Mike Shell and was called “Planes Can Fly.” It was included in Marshall’s first CD that is titled: “Christian Country.” The second performance of this song was performed by Stu Phillips and was renamed “Having You With Me.” It is included in this current “Nashville Sings Christian Country” CD. ...
| | Neon Swing X-Perience Here To Stay CD (2008)
Trip To Taxas MP3 Album
$8.79 Since 1998, Neon Swing X-perience (NSX) has been dedicated to preserving classic Americana through modernizing music rooted in jumpin' swing rhythms."Here To Stay", recorded as NSX's Tenth Anniversary album, represents the band's most swingin' recording. "Here To Stay" not only showcases the songs that have meant the most to the band throughout its journey - it also highlights songs that are essential to the entire swing genre.By mixing rockabilly, blues, and jazz with its big band roots, NSX revives classic songs made famous by Glenn Miller, Louis Prima, Louis Armstrong, Bobby Darin, and others while not compromising the band's commitment to progressing the swing genre through its own unique original compositions.Critics have praised NSX for being "the only band bold enough to jump, jive, and rock" and preserving "swing with sting". The group has performed and sold-out several notable venues on both coasts including The Derby (Hollywood), Central Park (NYC), PNC Park (Pittsburgh), Dogfish Head Brewery (DE), and the Hard Rock Cafe (Pittsburgh) among many others.Greasers, hipsters, jazz cats, and dancers who have seen the band during their outrageously fun tours now understand how the band is able to send audiences back to a time when zoot suits were sharp, martinis were strong, and romance was sparked on the dance floor through NSX's sound which can only be recreated by following these steps:Step 1. Grab a Glenn Miller record.Step 2. Pick up the tempo.Step 3. Add the heart and soul of a rockabilly band.Step 4. Give Louis Armstrong a couple of cigars and martinis before sending him on-stage.Step 5. Turn up the horns.Step 6. Mix in various types of "Americana" music.Step 7. Serve HOT!Blue Suede News says this about "Here To Stay":"Neon Swing X-Perience has been playing a powerful mix of modern Swing for the ...
