2008 collection that comprises just about all of the singles released by the Irma Records label over the two years of its operation, and features recordings by 10 artists, including Jimmy McCracklin and his Blues Blasters, Big Mama Thornton, Juke Boy Bonner, The Golden Keys. The collection gives a fascinating insight into the creative approach of a small local label, whose proprietor had sufficient nous to spot and develop artists that had the potential to make it on the big stage, and enable the label to punch above its weight. The music is an entertaining cross-section of what was going on in San Francisco, where the combination of the artists, the label bosses, and the local black community and environment saw the development of a distinctive style of Blues.
