Black Pearl album Product Description
Black Pearl album by Pat Travers was released Nov 04, 2008 on the Lemon Recordings label. Released for the first time on CD, this 1982 album by Pat Travers finds the Canadian rock singer/guitarist in fine form. "I La La La Love You" curiously combines a bluesy vibe and of-the-era synthesizer lines, while "I'd Rather See You Dead" is a dramatic power ballad Black Pearl songs. For hard-rock fans unfamiliar with Travers, BLACK PEARL is an excellent place to start exploring his often-overlooked catalogue.2008 release, the first time on CD for this album from the Canadian Rock/Blues guitarist, originally released in 1982. Moving to the UK in the early '70s, Travers made a name for himself as a top notch guitarist who blended Hard Rock and Blues into a musical stew. Concentrating on the U.S. market in the late '70s, Travers reached his commercial peak with a slew of great albums including Black Pearl. Nine tracks. Lemon Records. Recording information: Quadradial Studios (01/1982-08/1982). Photographer: Dean Janoff. Personnel: Pat Travers (vocals, guitar, keyboards); Joey Jelf (harmonica, background vocals); Don Harriss (piano, keyboards, synthesizer); Sandy Gennaro (drums, timpani); Dave Levine (drums). ...See Full Description

| great lost gem even though travers best years where behind him after 1980 this was a great album from 1982, i think id rather see you dead is one of my alltime favorite travers songs and it happens to be on this album, black pearl was very underrated i thought, this is a classic hard rock album period, if you liked the classics like puttin it straight or makin majic i dont see why you would not like this 1982 effort. | It's like a visit from a long-lost friend!! I have always loved this album, and was THRILLED when I saw it would finally be released on CD! The sound quality of the CD is awesome. I don't miss the popping from the album or the cassette hiss at all. It had been a long time since I've heard "Misty Morning." The commute to and from work was almost a pleasure, in the two weeks since this arrived. The only time this left my CD player was to alternate "Radioactive" in (but not so much "Radioactive"). This is a MUST for any PT fan!!!! By Brad (Florida) |
| The package arrived empty... I am still waiting for a reshipment... when will it arrive? By kevinhataley (Canada) |
| Excellent Album, Sounds Like crap!!! This album has excellent material, The sound quality is complete garbage. They could have used the master tapes instead of an old record to master this. Very disappointing. This goes for Hot Shot as well. Oh well, maybe next time. By jimss2112 (Calgary, Alberta, Canada) |
