Chuck Billy does it right on Silent Night!
People this is a heavy metal xmas. If you want Burl Ives, go pick up Frosty's Xmas. I got a huge laugh out of Chuck Billy and Ian Scott's rendition of Silent Night. Can't go wrong with Alice on Santa Claws. Great stuff!. Ripper kicks some butt as well as Oni Logan and Joe Lynn Turner.
Bring me some piggy pudding and a cup of good cheer. Pick it up or forever be put on the naughty list. Submitted by Meatrex (Lone Star State) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 2 of 2 found this helpful.
Good times, bad times Total hit and miss with the vocalists on this one. But when it hits, it hits on all cylinders. Dio is incredible, likely the best song on the album. Pinnick makes Drummer Boy shine as well. Tommy Shaw was another winner for me, as this was a more traditional version of a Xmas song. But Chuck Billy ruined Silent Night, and I am a huge fan of old Testament, so it's not that I don't like his vocals- but they really suck here. Other songs range from listenable to forgettable. Could of had 7 songs and got a perfect 5. Submitted by Big Willy (memphis) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 2 of 2 found this helpful.
GREAT XMAS CD WITH ONE LITTLE FLAW!!!! This cd is Great all great sounding rocking Christmas songs covered by some of the coolest Rockers and Hard Rockers of the 70's 80's 90's and Now. They only one I was not impressed with is The Death Metal Version of Silent Night. There are just some things you don't do. Death Metal Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer or maybe even Rusty Chevrolet might be funny, but not Silent Night. It could have been covered by any number of singers from the 80's or 90's Dokken, Bon Jovi, Dio, Rob Halford even. But enough about that the rest of the cd is ABSOLUTELY GREAT!!!!! Well worth the money. I would have gave it 5 Stars but like I said it had one little flaw, so I am giving it a Very High 4 Star Rating. Check it out. Bad idea...worse execution. A metal XMas CD...this idea had bad news written all over it. And then I heard it? Ugghhh. I am a huge fan of most of these artists/bands, but these songs are aweful. Save your money on this unless you have bucks to waste on novelty alone. Submitted by The Man (Somewhere In Time) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 3 found this helpful.
