Fingal album
$10.59 The gentle, rhythmic percussion of Cameroon's Baka pygmies meets more ornate Northern European musical traditions in this wonderfully exotic, yet hauntingly familiar blending of cultures. Guitarist Martin Cradick and his wife, singer Su Hart, lived for a time with the Baka people (in a West African rain forest relatively devoid of Western influences) studying and playing their music, and have borrowed from it traditional instruments and a distinctly lustrous energy. Cradick blends Baka-inspired music with Ghanian rhythms and Irish and Scottish influences, among many others, in JOURNEY BETWEEN. This album is the latest chapter in a continuing series of records exploring these global connections, featuring musicians from Britain, France, Ghana, and Senegal, with violinist Paddy Le Mercier and Cradick himself providing a strongly Celtic sensibility to the album, and vocals in both Senegalese and Gaelic.

| | Celtic Thunder The Show CD (2008)
Fingal music CDs
$15.49 CELTIC THUNDER THE SHOW, the audio companion for the popular PBS television special, showcases the five Irish vocalists in their ideal setting, a stage in Dublin. Celtic Thunder thrives on the contrast of its various voices (four tenors and a baritone) creating a surreal musical landscape. Paul Byrum's assured operatic tones on "Remember Me (Recuerdeme)" crest against the doleful pop of Ryan Kelly's "Desperado" and the nascent rumble of Darien McGinty on "Come By the Hills." The concert is tied together by the steady hand of songwriter/pianist Phil Coulter, who also ...

Fingal CD music
$22.85 The Wolfe Tones have been singing out for the freedom of a united Ireland for over 25 years. Through their music and its message, they hope to build "a house in which all Irish people can live in unity and peace."
This two-CD set is filled with tunes sung in both English and Irish. On "Women of Ireland" they sing of struggle and joy but flavor the music with an air of pride. On the upbeat "Foggy Dew" the four Wolfe Tones all join in singing a powerful melody of rebellion. A song of Irish liberty, "Foggy Dew" captures the glory of Irish patriots everywhere. Finally, the harp-driven "A Dord Feinne (Oro Se Do Bheatha Abhaile)" shows the ...

Fingal songs
$25.59 The story goes that Lionel Hampton gave a five-year-old Roy Ayers his first set of mallets, a monumental occasion that eventually led to Ayers's mastery of the vibraphone. Sometimes called the "Godfather of Acid Jazz," Ayers revolutionized his instrument as leader of the group Ubiquity, and--incorporating elements of soul, R&B, and blues--was able to formulate a unique brand of laidback jazz/funk. Not to be confused with his 1976 mellow jazz classic of the same name, the double disc collection EVERYBODY LOVES THE SUNSHINE surveys the career of legendary West Coast vibraphonist Roy Ayers from that watershed effort through to the eve of 2000. This Atom Records compilation brings together lesser known recordings, rarities, smash hits, and original selections from albums such as LOTS OF LOVE, DRIVE, WAKE UP, and JUICE, as well as the original EVERYBODY LOVES THE SUNSHINE.
Japanese only remastered pressing of this 1976 album from the Jazz vibraphonist. Universal. 2009.
