Animated; Closed Captioned; Standard Screen; Additional Footage; Soundtrack English; Soundtrack French; Soundtrack Spanish; English Subtitles In the third installment of the wildly popular SHREK series of computer-animated movies, everyone's favorite hygienically challenged green ogre (voiced by Mike Myers) faces both parental and royal responsibility when his wife, Princess Fiona (Cameron Diaz), finds out that she is pregnant and that her father, King Harold (John Cleese), is on his death bed. The shock of these revelations leads Shrek on a journey with his loyal companions Donkey (Eddie Murphy) and Puss in Boots (Antonio Banderas) to seek out another heir to the throne--an awkward young boy named Artie Pendragon (Justin Timberlake). Waiting in the wings is the scheming Prince Charming (Rupert Everett), who sees the perfect opportunity to make his own bid for power and rallies a villainous crew to attack the castle.
Taking over the reins from director Andrew Adamson, Raman Hui and Chris Miller fill the land of Far, Far Away with even more fairy-tale characters in SHREK THE THIRD. Although this takes away from Shrek's own screen time, it introduces the highly amusing Princess Squad--which includes Snow White (Amy Poehler) and Cinderella (Amy Sedaris)--and the bullying Lancelot (John Krasinski), among others. And, as always, this SHREK outing features many pop-culture references, even managing to nod to two horror films (THE EXORCIST and ROSEMARY'S BABY) in a single shot. The movie also allows for more hilarious interplay between Donkey and Puss in Boots, resulting in a comedic adventure tale that, while over-populated, is still undeniably entertaining.

I liked this Shrek alot, the reviews are harsh!!! These are pretty harsh reviews on a somewhat kids movie.I honestly thought the other movies were slow, and boring, and this one was funny.Truthfully everyone thinks the firsts the funniest because it was the first.Everything was new,and fresh, and the second's was the worst to me.I mean a Fairy god mother that's not nice. That's not funny. So to each his own... Worst so far.... Still not as good as the first and second one, but did have some good laughs between the characters, some pertaining more the adults. I found myself bored during certain parts. I thought it drug a little. I would wait until it came to Dvd, but if you have kids they will be entertained with all the music & laughs. Submitted by lw (Iowa) Was This Review Helpful? Shrek The Third film
$21.34 Manny, Sid, Diego, and Ellie are back in this third film in the computer-animated Ice Age series. With those creatures in starring roles, fans also get another dose of the vocal talents of Ray Romano, John Leguizamo, Denis Leary, and Queen Latifah, who are joined by SHAUN OF THE DEAD’s Simon Pegg. In ICE AGE: DAWN OF THE DINOSAUR, Manny and Ellie are expecting their first baby, while Sid the sloth tries an unconventional way of starting a family that gets him into trouble. With all this talk of babies, Diego might be losing his saber-toothed edge, but a journey to save Sid may just turn the whole group into heroes. In addition to all that adventure, it wouldn’t be an Ice Age film if Scrat weren’t on a desperate hunt for an acorn, but he might get distracted by a shapely female squirrel.

Shrek The Third review
$6.55 With its pretty songs and good characters, THUMBELINA will delight children. The film--which uses more computer graphics than previous Don Bluth films--tells the fable of the Hans Christian Andersen heroine Thumbelina (Jodi Benson), a tiny girl born to a childless woman from a flower. Longing to find someone her size, she falls in love with a fairy prince, Cornelius (Gary Imhoff), only to be kidnapped by a band of show business toads and their singing Ma (Charo). That's just the beginning of Thumbelina's adventures and her quest to be reunited with her prince--and it's an adventure filled with danger and excitement.
Tiny Thumbelina meets and falls for enchanted fairy Prince Cornelius who is as tiny as she is. But before their romance can bloom, she is kidnapped by a brood of show-buisness toads, waylaid by a scheming beetle and betrothed to a befuddled mole.

| | Sounder DVD (1972)
Shrek The Third review
$10.05 An extremely powerful and uplifting story about a family of black sharecroppers, the Morgans, set in rural Louisiana during the early 1930s, Martin Ritt's SOUNDER is so simple and effective that it evokes an emotional response from viewers of all ages. Even so, SOUNDER is not a children's film by any means; it treats serious, adult issues, and features some of the most deeply felt performances and mature relationships ever captured on film. SOUNDER's title comes from the name of the Morgan family dog that young David Lee Morgan takes with him while hunting with his father, Nathan. Unfortunately, times are so hard for the Morgans that when Nathan tries to steal a ham for his family, he is caught and sent to a labor camp. David, now the man of the house, sets out on a journey to find the camp where his father was sent. On his way, he comes across an all-black school where he enrolls, learning empowering lessons about black achievement in America. Based on the Newberry Award winning novel by William H. Armstrong, SOUNDER not only improves on its source material, but it is also one of the rare films about the black experience that moves people of all races.
Nathan Lee Morgan (Paul Winfield), an African-American sharecropper, steals food from his neighbor to feed his hungry family and is arrested, leaving his wife and children to endure the hardships imposed on them by the economic depression and prejudice of the 1930's South. Directed by Martin Ritt, Sounder is a powerful story of a boy, his dog, and his family's triumph over adversity. Cicely Tyson also stars.
