Animated; Closed Captioned; Standard Screen; Additional Footage; Soundtrack English; Soundtrack French; Soundtrack Spanish; English Subtitles In the third installment of the wildly popular SHREK series of computer-animated movies, everyone's favorite hygienically challenged green ogre (voiced by Mike Myers) faces both parental and royal responsibility when his wife, Princess Fiona (Cameron Diaz), finds out that she is pregnant and that her father, King Harold (John Cleese), is on his death bed. The shock of these revelations leads Shrek on a journey with his loyal companions Donkey (Eddie Murphy) and Puss in Boots (Antonio Banderas) to seek out another heir to the throne--an awkward young boy named Artie Pendragon (Justin Timberlake). Waiting in the wings is the scheming Prince Charming (Rupert Everett), who sees the perfect opportunity to make his own bid for power and rallies a villainous crew to attack the castle.
Taking over the reins from director Andrew Adamson, Raman Hui and Chris Miller fill the land of Far, Far Away with even more fairy-tale characters in SHREK THE THIRD. Although this takes away from Shrek's own screen time, it introduces the highly amusing Princess Squad--which includes Snow White (Amy Poehler) and Cinderella (Amy Sedaris)--and the bullying Lancelot (John Krasinski), among others. And, as always, this SHREK outing features many pop-culture references, even managing to nod to two horror films (THE EXORCIST and ROSEMARY'S BABY) in a single shot. The movie also allows for more hilarious interplay between Donkey and Puss in Boots, resulting in a comedic adventure tale that, while over-populated, is still undeniably entertaining.

Shrek The Third Movie Review Average Rating: (4 out of 5 stars) Good entertainment We liked the third part almost as much as the first and second. It's good entertainment for the whole fam, a very nice and funny movie. Submitted by Briggitte (Valencia,Spain) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
I liked this Shrek alot, the reviews are harsh!!! These are pretty harsh reviews on a somewhat kids movie.I honestly thought the other movies were slow, and boring, and this one was funny.Truthfully everyone thinks the firsts the funniest because it was the first.Everything was new,and fresh, and the second's was the worst to me.I mean a Fairy god mother that's not nice. That's not funny. So to each his own... Needs better jokes. What is up with Shrek the third? It's ridiculous beyond and the first two Shrek's where def. better. Really not funny plus I almost fell asleep in the movies. Submitted by Gamesml (Wake Forest, NC) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No This review is for a different format.
Worst so far.... Still not as good as the first and second one, but did have some good laughs between the characters, some pertaining more the adults. I found myself bored during certain parts. I thought it drug a little. I would wait until it came to Dvd, but if you have kids they will be entertained with all the music & laughs. Submitted by lw (Iowa) Was This Review Helpful? Shrek The Third film
$9.99 Tyler Perry follows up his DIARY OF A MAD BLACK WOMAN with more of his unique fusion of soapy melodrama, poetry, spirituality, romance, and raucous humor based on his popular stage play. This time around, the drama centers on a pair of half-sisters struggling to overcome the oppression of their materialistic mother (Lynn Whitfield). Weak-willed daughter Lisa (Rochelle Ayetes) is being pushed into marriage with an abusive investment banker (Blair Underwood), while Vanessa (Lisa Arrindell Anderson) is unable to trust the love of too-good-to-be-true Brian (Boris Kadjoe). It may be a bit jarring at first to veer from harrowing scenes of domestic abuse to hilarious scenes of Tyler in his dual role as the tough-talking grandma Madea (here also raising a troubled foster kid) and her flatulent brother Joe, but it works, especially when Cicely Tyson and poet Maya Angelou show up as old relatives at the reunion; their powerful presence provides the weight to anchor everything down. Hearing Tyson pour her heart out while addressing the young people at the reunion from the porch of an old slave shack--Angelou at her side--is an unforgettably moving experience. This is the work of a daringly original comedian and filmmaker; fearlessly confrontational and generous of heart ...

Shrek The Third review
$9.69 In this feel-good comedy with a positive message, Mo'Nique stands up for all the overweight women given short shrift by society. One of a group of three friends that includes her hot-to-trot thin cousin Mia (Joyful Drake) and her frumpy friend Stacey (Kendra C. Johnson), Jazmin dreams of starting her own fashion line for big girls. Meanwhile her crash diets aren't working and she hasn't been with a man in nine months. Then she wins a trip to Palm Springs and meets Tunde (Jimmy Jean-Louis), a Nigerian doctor, for whom big means beautiful. Romance is all set to bloom, but that's where this Cinderella story takes a sudden detour. Jazmin learns there's more to happiness than a gorgeous man, especially when her low self-esteem keeps him at arm's length.
With its interesting insights into weight discrimination and its celebratory depiction of African and African American culture, PHAT GIRLZ grows into a "feel good about yourself" movie, no matter what size, gender, or color you may be. Comedy star Mo'Nique proves she's got the heft to carry a leading feature film role, especially during her mannequin-destroying, room-shredding third act meltdown. As her knight in shining armor, Jean-Louis does the beaming-with-African-charm-and-dignity thing very well, and even though she's not phat, Joyful Drake still looks pretty sexy as the petite-sized cousin, letting it all hang out at the Palm Springs poolside.
Mo'Nique stars as a sassy fashion designer trying to launch a sexy line of clothes for ...

Shrek The Third DVD
$10.49 NATTY REBEL is one in a string of acclaimed albums that U Roy made with producer Tony Robinson. Robinson was known for taking rocksteady classics and running them through a dub-inflected studio treatment--stripping vocals and re-mixing levels, while adding studio musicians and backing singers. Robinson's bag of tricks provided the perfect context for the infamous toasting of U Roy, and NATTY REBEL finds him in fine form, both lyrically and vocally.
A host of guest musicians, especially "Riddim Twins" Sly & Robbie (bassist Lloyd Parks replaces Robbie Shakespeare on some tracks), helps define the sound of the record. Deep, buoyant bass and drum grooves lay the groundwork for Robinson's studio wizardry and U Roy's half-sung/half-spoken raps. Old-school nuggets like the Wailers' "Soul Rebel" (reprised here as "Natty Rebel") are given exuberant revisions, with U Roy reeling off Rastafarian messages in his conversational, precisely rhythmic style. From "Babylon Burning," a reggae-fied version of "Proud Mary," straight through to a funky take on John Holt's "Wear You to the Ball," NATTY ...

$14.45 With the talents of Chuck Jones, Boris Karloff, and Dr. Seuss combined, there was almost no way this could be anything but an instant classic. Watched regularly every holiday season and beloved by children and cynical adults alike, this animated gem is just that and more. All goes well with his dastardly plan until little Cindy Loo Who (who was no more than two) gums up the works with her innocent Christmas spirit. Jones directed, with Karloff supplying the sweetly sinister narration and voice of the Grinch. The story is from the ...

Shrek The Third review
$21.39 Gary Winick (THIRTEEN GOING ON 30) had a lot to live up to in remaking a beloved children's movie, itself based on the classic novel by E. B. White, but this 2006 live-action version more than fulfills its promise. With droll '50s-inspired art direction, low-key and earnest performances, and the cutest ensemble cast of farm animals since BABE, Winick maintains the deeply moral (though not moralistic) themes of the original novel and also injects some mild humor and scenes of peril and adventure.
Child actor Dakota Fanning gives an impressively mature performance as the loyal and spunky farm girl Fern who rescues the pig Wilbur--the runt of his litter--from her father's axe. But as Wilbur grows up and faces his likely fate of becoming Christmas dinner, another friend steps in to save the day--the spider Charlotte (voiced by Julia Roberts), who spins fancy, slogan-filled webs above Wilbur's pen to convince his guardians that he is indeed ...
