You will love this! Superb sounding SACD! This album is the musical equivalent of a tapestry quilt... providing warmth and comfort, with vivid colours and pictures. By David (Cornwall, UK) This review is for a different format.
Not my first choice for Multichannel music Not my first choice for Multichannel music, but somehow this does sound good. The higher resolution DVD-A does show up some of the deficiancies of the original recordings but the songs, and the songwriting quality themselve stand out. By a reviewer (wootton bassett, UK) This review is for a different format.
Good, but not great I am very familiar with this album, don"t find this to be a stellar version, some tracks are great, MOFI has some new equipment that is used here a gain system for mastering and something else described on cardboard cd protector, like cloth CD cover. By Jim (Abington, Pa, USA) This review is for a different format.
Nice DVD-A; however... I agree with the other reviewer regarding the "deficiencies" that the high-res brings out. I own a lot of DVD-A discs, and this was the first time I actually heard significant background noise during playback. By leahypc (New Hampshire, USA) This review is for a different format.
GREAT music, by GREAT musicians!! "In a Station," is a great song for anytime!! Richard Manuel has a great voice for, "Lonsome Suzie!!" By BobDylan4E! (Orlando, Fl) This review is for a different format.

Band Vinyl LP (1969)
Music from Big Pink album for sale Initially renowned as Bob Dylan's backing group, the Band emerged from the singer's shadow to proclaim a distinctive talent. Drawing upon a musical canon embracing soul, country, folk and rock `n' roll, the quintet created a unique sound that was quintessentially American. Its rustic qualities were enhanced by principle songwriter Robbie Robertson who created vistas suggestive of a pre-industrial age, and as such, captured the restlessness of the late 60s without the need for explicit manifestos. Expressive singing, sublime melodies and telepathic musicianship instils The Band with quality, but its adult themes and perspectives ensure an absolute timelessness. An all-time critics' favourite.
