Further along the road, the fourth album from Bristol-based band The Shrinks sees the popular seven-piece travelling even deeper into rootsy Avonicana; their own unique pigeonhole that helps to explain the genre-spanning music that is created 'when the mighty Mississippi meets the muddy Avon'. Based around the song writing of the band's main singer and guitarist David Brown, the twelve numbers here go beyond the usual 'meetin', cheatin' and retreatin' song content to encompass a much wider palette of human experience, including an amusing take on the consequences of a celebrity lifestyle (Best destiny), forest fires (The Devil's breath), the legacy of the 60s (Nobody listening), the first recordings of Country music legend Jimmie Rodgers (Bristol, Tennessee), living with obsessive compulsive disorder (Yeah, no) and even the joys of doing the laundry to your favorite music (Soul ironing) - the latter featuring an intensely soulful guest appearance by the renowned Celtic Jazz Saxophonist, Colin Tully. It all adds up to an enjoyable (and unusual) amalgam of American-style roots music and west of England vernacular: Avonicana, in fact. Other albums by The Shrinks:Horfield to Hollywood (2000). On the stoop (2001). More damned lies (2003). What the press say:The shrinks play a lilting country headed by a voice oscillating between Levon Helm and John Hiatt. They're clearly in love with the conventions of their chosen form, and well they might be -as long as there are bands like The Shrinks, the world is a better place.Julian OwenVenue Magazine Further Along The Road Music Shrinks Further Along The Road Songs | 1. | Bristol, Tennessee |

Further Along The Road songs
$15.05 Christmas With the New Christy Minstrels: Complete! offers not one, but two albums by the group of the same name. Interestingly, because of a number of personnel changes, none of the members present for Merry Christmas! in 1963 remained with the group in 1966 when Christmas With the Christies was recorded. While the group has been eclipsed by Peter, Paul, and Mary over time, the New Christy Minstrels' star shone as bright as any folk group in the mid-'60s. The group carved out a unique choral sound, achieved ...
| | Burl Ives Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer CD (1995)
Further Along The Road album
$4.99 The Rankin/Bass animagic film Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer first appeared on December 6, 1964. Since then, it has become the longest-running of all holiday TV specials (with, we hope, no end in sight). It's fitting that the grandfather of all Christmas specials features Burl Ives, still remembered warmly by millions as the voice behind the film's narrator, Sam the Snowman. Although this soundtrack bears his name, Ives appears only on a handful of songs: "Rudolph the Red-Nosed ...

Further Along The Road CD music
$14.35 Indie/alt-country songwriter-goddess Neko Case is nothing if not a chameleon, capable of wrapping herself around soulful twang, snotty 'tude, or bouyant teen energy. But if there's a thread running through her work, it's her undeniable magnetism as a poet. And on CYCLONE, by fully embracing the theme of love ...
| | Go: The Very Best Of Moby CD (2006)
Further Along The Road music CDs
$18.65 Issued in 2006, GO is the first Moby compilation to include both the New York City-based electronica artist's early-1990s singles and material from his '99 mainstream breakthrough album, PLAY, and beyond. In addition to an update of the rave-steeped title track, the collection presents fan favorites such as the soulful "Honey" and the shimmering ambient composition "God Moving Over the Face of the Waters." The two-CD set also includes the previously unreleased "New York, New York," featuring vocals from Blondie's Debbie Harry, and an entire disc of remixes by club luminaries such as Timo Maas and Mylo.
French edition of reluctant rocker Richard Melville Hall's 2006 anthology of greatest hits. The 15 tracks chronicle his career up to 2006 and includes two exclusive, previously unreleased singles: “New York, New York” with vocals from NYC icon and Blondie frontwoman Debbie Harry and "Crier La Vie", the French version of "Slipping Away", ...

| | Amanda Mabro Red Rows CD (2008)
Further Along The Road CD music
$12.69 After working in film and theatre, Montreal singer-songwriter Amanda Mabro was offered a scholarship to AMDA in New York City. However, when she was awarded the FACTOR demo grant, she decided to remain in Montreal to continue developing a then newly forged musical partnership with her now long time collaborator Cozmos Quazar. In the years that followed, Mabro took an astonishingly rich voice and, with producer/co-writer Cozmos Quazer, crafted a sound that fuses the smooth and sultry vocal stylings of jazz legends, the raw energy of indie-rock and blues, and the mysterious theatrical flare of German and French Cabaret. Her music embodies a fresh exuberance and intensity that jazz based music has seen too little of the past three decades. With the release of her critically acclaimed debut record \"Superwoman In The Making\", Mabro was put on the map with significant airplay on both college and major radio stations ...
