I paused, and I was blessed to hear. with gratitudeChris Wuehrmann 2008\" Chris Wuehrmann\'s music is inspired by his love of the outdoors; he\'s at peace when enjoying nature. Whether it\'s back country solo backpacking in the Grand Canyon, exploring Arizona\'s untrammeled deserts, canyons and forests, trekking in the Colorado Rocky Mountains with friends, kayaking and fishing at Reelfoot Lake in Tennessee, hiking in the enchanted countryside of New Mexico, or relaxing in his own back yard in Chino Valley, Arizona, music is being created. A native of Chicago, Chris came west in 1967 to attend Prescott College in Arizona, and became an instant devotee of the Southwest. His eclectic employments and pastimes have included organic truck farming, field archaeology, logging, raising Nubian dairy goats, English country dance, backpacking, canoeing and kayaking, and fishing. Retired from his position as manager of the largest Elderhostel program in the world at Yavapai College, Chris and his wife, Rita, are enjoying lots more trailer traveling (or is it travel trailering?), genealogy research, fishing, kayaking, hiking, bird watching, music, and visiting, especially in Texas and the American South, places that call to them. Artist InformationBiographyCANOBLISS is a San Diego, CA based five-piece progressive hard rock/metal band originally founded in 1997 by Samson Pedroza and Chenzo Vidalez. After releasing the album Wicked Necessary in 1998, there were years of turbulent times and multiple lineup changes until the band added brothers Mike and Jon Russo in early 2004. The band released their second album Demon Angel later that year. Unsatisfied with their vocalist at the time, Canobliss began looking for a new front-man in early 2005. After an exhaustive search and hundreds of auditions from hopefuls all over the world, Canobliss added Johan Maldonado in the summer of 2006. His talent, versatility and range as a vocalist complimented Canobliss' style and sound perfectly. With their newly found line-up, Canobliss independently released their full-length CD Liberation of Dissonance on July 21, 2007. Beginning in March \'08 Canobliss launched a successful national college radio campaign to promote L.O.D., and hit the #1 slot at KSLU-1 (St. Louis, MO) and KSAU (Nacogdoches, TX) in addition to breaking the top 10 at several others. Already, Canobliss has recorded a brand new 7-song EP that was released on July 19, 2008. The EP, entitled Psychothermia, is the sophomore release for the existing lineup and the band feels that it is their strongest release to date. Canobliss is proud to have completely self-produced their last three albums from start to finish including all tracking, editing, mixing as well as layout and assembling of the artwork. However, despite many excellent reviews of their albums, it is their high energy live show that fans say keep them coming back for more. In the late 1960s and early 1970s, many New York Latin musicians became increasingly influenced by R&B and soul music. One could trace exchange among the styles all the way back to the birth of rock & roll if so inclined, but often the sounds cut by this circle were heard mostly or exclusively by a U.S.-based Latin audience, with only a little crossover to pop and African-American listeners. The Soul of Spanish Harlem collects 20 such tracks from the era (a couple of them previously unreleased), done for labels that for the most part were targeting the Latin market, the most prominent of them being Fania (though releases by other companies are also included).
