| | Who Killed Amanda Palmer? CD - Import Amanda Palmer Discography of CDs
The voice of the Dresden Dolls presents her debut solo album, "Who Killed Amanda Palmer". Titled after a Twin Peaks reference that has "come to mean new things," according to Palmer. The album opens the listener in to a whole new world of Amanda's. A world that is sonically polished with the production of Ben Folds, who also introduced Palmer to his trusted and critically-acclaimed string arranger Paul Buckmaster, who supplied gorgeous string and orchestral arrangements for four songs on the record. From the sweeping orchestral opener "Astronaut" to the wild choruses of "Leeds United" to the sinister pop of "Melissa Mahoney," each song peels back multi-faceted layers of Amanda Palmer, revealing an unbelievably talented woman at the core. The quality of the album is extended out into the stunning digipack that houses Amanda's debut. A debut that will be supported by a run of UK headline dates. Despite "Leeds Utd" (shot in the UK) being the focus track/video, Amanda has recorded a series of 6 music videos with director Michael Pope. A series which beautiful express the melancholic and maturity of the album. Who Killed Amanda Palmer? Who Killed Amanda Palmer? album
$9.58 Susan Boyle's grand unveiling on Britain's Got Talent was with a song from Les Miserables - the very song that lends this album its title -- and if she could become an international sensation based on a show tune standard, there's no reason for her to change her approach on her debut, since that's the sound that made her a star. Plus, a large part of Boyle's appeal is that she's a middle-aged woman recalling a bygone era when there were singers that appealed to an adult audience by offering soft, stately versions of pop hits and standards. That time was the late `60s and early `70s, and apart from a rather faithful version of Madonna's "You'll ...

Who Killed Amanda Palmer? songs
$10.39 Like the HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL franchise, GLEE became more than a TV show when several of its songs cracked the Hot 100, including the number four hit "Don't Stop Believing." That song kicks off this soundtrack, the first in a series of albums cataloging the music performed by the show's cast. Not all GLEE members are created equal--some cast mates are far better actors than singers--but ...
| | Nirvana Bleach CD (1989) Deluxe; Deluxe Edition
Who Killed Amanda Palmer? album
$13.19 With a sludgy, chainsaw guitar sound that owes as much to early Black Sabbath as to Kurt Cobain's heroes The Melvins, whose drummer puts in an appearance here, Nirvana emerges from Seattle's underground scene as standard-bearers of a style that embraces the anger and energy of punk alongside the thick, muddy sonic attack favored by early '70s proto-metal bands. Cobain's lyrics are fueled by outrage and self-loathing, combining literary flair with a direct, visceral quality that makes him a viable candidate for the John-Lennon-of-Gen X award.
Nirvana's debut album showcases what sounds more like a force of nature than a rock band. The unrelenting fervor with which the group delivers these 13 tunes is almost frightening. ...

Who Killed Amanda Palmer? CD music
$8.99 Pink's insistently hooky, attitude-filled pop-rock has kept the singer a fixture on the radio and on singles charts since the early 2000s. The artist's fifth effort, FUNHOUSE, doesn't tamper with the formula: Pink's powerhouse vocals and in-your-face approach, backed by stadium-sized production, ...

Who Killed Amanda Palmer? music CDs
$13.89 The Dominican community in the New York area is the biggest outside the Caribbean, and its musical traditions are a big part of its vibrancy. Its annual festival in Washington Heights features Dominican music, and some of the artists who perform at the festival appear here, covering not only the native high-energy meringue, but every aspect of Dominican music, be it the palos of Conjunto Folklorico de Alianza Dominicana or the son of Coco Merenson. A lot of this music is folkloric, as befits the Smithsonian Folkways label, but it's never less than marvelously entertaining, like the salve of Francia Reyes, where the vocals rise effortlessly above the drums. "La Multona," from Neri Olivares, features a scintillating, delicate play of melody, showing how Dominicans have developed the Cuban son into their ...

Who Killed Amanda Palmer? songs
$14.79 "My goal is simpleā¦I just want to move the world one poem at a time." Boston-based Nigerian poet/singer Iyeoka Ivie Okoawo grew up with a commanding voice and a love for the stage - herfirst award-winning performance was at age sixteen, performing monologues for oratory competitions at Boston Latin High School - but it was ironically in her college years while obtaining a degree in pharmacy at Northeastern University, that she found her vocal freedom, when she discovered two different outlets in art: Poetry and Music. Iyeoka learned the art of interpretation from her experience choosing powerful monologues aimed at moving people. Soon she would learn to create her own movement. Embracing the power of words from poets and authors such as Sonia Sanchez, Patricia Smith and Alice Walker, Iyeoka discovered that choosing your path effectively towards expressive freedom begins from within and builds momentum with the truth of the story that ...
