| | Sara Evans Three Chords And The Truth CD Sara Evans Discography of CDs
Coming on like an up-to-date version of Patsy Cline, Sara Evans tosses her hat into the ring for best new female country artist of 1998. Surprisingly, with Three Chords and the Truth, she just may win. This disc rings out with an air of originality helped along by great tunes and solid backup musicianship. Producer Pete Anderson (of Dwight Yoakam fame) helps keep things pared down and centered, giving Evans the opportunity to shine. The title cut is a must for new country fans, while "Imagine That" calls to mind Billie Holiday. All in all, the title of this disc says it all. ~ James Chrispell

$12.35 For a period in the early 1990s, Garth Brooks was not only the biggest star in country music, he was one of the biggest stars in music, period. An unassuming Oklahoman who fused the blue-collar ethic of new traditionalist country with an unapologetic pop side that drew on his love of 1970s rockers like Kiss and Billy Joel, Garth Brooks fundamentally changed the sound of mainstream country music in much the same way that Hank Williams had in the 1940s and Patsy Cline had in the 1950s. | | Exquisite Death Of Saxon Shore CD (2005) Digipak
Three Chords And The Truth music CDs
$10.79 There's no question that the story behind The Exquisite Death of Saxon Shore is a fine example of artistic persistence -- Saxon Shore founder Matt Doty had to deal with the departure of his earlier bandmates, recruiting and working with a slew of new performers using the Net to trade files for rehearsals and demos and then finally squeezing in a time-constrained recording session with producer/supporter Dave Fridmann, not to mention collaborating with cover designer Ben Volta throughout. Is the album as good as its back story, though? Yes, but only to an extent -- Saxon Shore are clearly aiming for a Big Epic Rock sound in the way that Fridmann is unquestionably great at overseeing, yet Exquisite Death for that reason is a very unsurprising album, where the majesty is welcomed for its familiarity more than for its newness. Starting with the massive-sounding "The Revolution Will Be Streaming," all ascending guitar lines and huge drums, Exquisite Death captures moods both of universe-filling sonics and gentle, meditative reflections. The ...

His songs have crossed the country on public radio airwaves and gone around the world in performances in Belgium, Bulgaria, the British Isles, Central Africa and Transylvania. Author Bill McKibben says: \"Dan is a throwback to the old role of the folk singer . . .he’s articulating things that need to be said right now. \"Duggan is known from Maine to California for his wizardry on hammered dulcimer and flat-picking guitar, for dulcimer workshops, square dance calling, and as recipient of the National Hammered Dulcimer Championship. In fact, Paul Simon asked him to play on his album You’re the One. Dan’s original tunes range from graceful waltzes to intense foot stompers, and have been published in the collection Coming Home. The Dans\' musical fun is genuine and contagious, as they present a diverse blend of blues and folk, ballads and dance tunes.Reviews“A stone cold winner.”- John Shelton Ivany, New ...
