Soul Asylum: Super Hits CD

In these years the group elaborates musics, ballads and popular songs that are recalled to the values of our history and the sicilian tradition, interposing, already from then, typical instruments like 'lu friscalettu', tamburello and the mandolino, to various instruments like the Oboe, the percussions and others, harmonizing all with particular rhythms, through one new mixture of Mediterranean sounds. The show was born from the name 'Things of Sicily' that the group has carried in tour in Italy and abroad for various years obtaining favorable consents. 'Cose di Sicilia' is also the title of the first record job of the group, that the critic has received positively assigning them the prize 'palcoscenico' for the year 1993, recognizing them the results obtained in the field of popular music made with new sonorities. On the 1996 they are present in the Canadian city of Hamilton to represent the sicilians popular and sicilian traditions in occasion of the recurrence of the centenarian of the foundation of the city, with a great show transmitted in directed from Canadian television 'CHANNEL 54'. In these years the CHIARAMONTE, reached remarkable popolarity thanks to the realization of a documentary produced by RAI regione, and in the numerous participation in the several local TV. Always in 1996, it is born the second record job that strongly characterizes the maturation of the group, with the publication of cd titled 'TIERRA'. This CD contains nine tracks all unpuplished of which the first four, much evocative, they narrate the life of a personage, between the other much beloved to the sicilian writer Leonardo Sciascia: 'Fra Diego La Matina', a monk lived in `the 600, condemned and burned to the pyre from the Spanish inquisition on the 1658 in public square S. Erasmo to Palermo, because accused of heresy because of its l revendications of socia character.
