Additional Footage; Soundtrack English; Soundtrack French; Soundtrack Spanish; English Subtitles; Director's Comments; Dolby Digital 5.1 Re WWE heavyweight John Cena (THE MARINE) muscles his way back onto the screen with this action film. Renny Harlin, best known for his work on CLIFFHANGER and DIE HARD 2: DIE HARDER), directs. Finnish director Renny Harlin (CLIFFHANGER, DIE HARD 2) brings first-time screenwriter Daniel Kunka’s story to life in the fast-paced action film 12 ROUNDS. When New Orleans police officer Danny Fisher (WWE wrestler John Cena) apprehends Miles Jackson (Aidan Gillen, THE WIRE), a villainous Irishman being pursued by the FBI, Jackson’s girlfriend is accidentally killed. One year later, Jackson is out of prison and seeking revenge, kidnapping Fisher's girlfriend, Molly (Ashley Scott), and setting up an elaborate game of cat and mouse that traverses the city. Now a detective, Fisher, with the help of the FBI and his fellow officers, has to survive 12 rounds of Jackson’s game--each more mentally and physically challenging than the last--if he wants to see Molly alive again. Meanwhile, the roguish Jackson may be seeking more than just retribution.
Although the premise is completely implausible, 12 ROUNDS is a fun thrill ride. Jackson’s plan and Fisher’s ensuing pursuit leave an unimaginable trail of destruction throughout the city, managing to encompass fire engines, buses, a streetcar, and a helicopter, along with fires, explosions, and blackouts, among other things. There isn’t a dull moment as Fisher and the FBI agents, played by Steve Harris and Gonzalo Menendez, try to outwit the seemingly omnipotent villain. Cena, resembling a super-sized Mark Wahlberg, fits the bill for an action hero. Gillen is a solid nemesis: heartless, stone-faced, and completely out for himself. Brian White plays Hank, Fisher’s partner and best friend, and Scott is appealing as Fisher’s feisty girlfriend. 12 Rounds | List Price | $29.98 (You save $6.59) | | Studio | 20th Century Fox | | Orig Year | 2009 | | DVD Encoding | Region 1 | | All Time Sales Rank | 20291 | | CD Universe Part number | 7757174 | | Catalog number | 2260011 | | Discs | 1 | | Release Date | Jun 30, 2009 | | Rating | PG-13 (MPAA) | | Rating Reason | for intense sequences of violence and action | | Running Time | 108 Minutes | | Additional Info | Widescreen; Dubbed; Subtitled; Rated; Unrated | | Movie Details | Color; Widescreen; Dubbed; Subtitled; Rated; Unrated; Rated/Unrated |
12 Rounds Movie Review Average Rating: (2.3 out of 5 stars) terrible another crappy Cena movie. What else is there to say. Submitted by resistance_fan (woodlawn, va) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 9 of 9 found this helpful.
NOT THAT GREAT NOT THAT GOOD AT ALL. ACTUALLY THIS MOVIE SUCKED COMPARED TO "THE MARINE". THAT WAS JOHN CENA'S BEST ROLE YET BESIDES HIS WRESTLING CHARACTER ROLE. IF HE WANTS TO HAVE A CAREER IN ANY FUTURE ACTION MOVIES HE BETTER LOOK AT BETTER ROLES LIKE "THE MARINE" OR MAYBE SOME FUTURISTIC TYPE CHARACTER BECAUSE THIS TYPE OF MOVIE HAS BEEN DONE AND AIN'T HITTIN ON NOTHIN' MUCH. JOHN CENA, YOU CAN DO BETTER THAN THIS. Submitted by MICHAELCBAREFOOT (FOUR OAKS, N.C.,U.S.A.) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 10 of 13 found this helpful.
not bad I realize that this movie wasn't the greatest, but it wasn't that bad actually, i'd pay to see it again. Submitted by Mark (Knoxville) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 0 of 4 found this helpful.

$14.39 The early 2000s have seen a string of big-budget remakes of classic horror films. In addition to THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE and THE HILLS HAVE EYES, John Carpenter's benchmark slasher flick HALLOWEEN has been given a new-millennial overhaul. At the helm of the project sits rocker Rob Zombie, whose previous films, HOUSE OF 1,000 CORPSES and THE DEVIL'S REJECTS, brought a fan's touch and an auteur's vision to the director's chair. While Zombie's HALLOWEEN is faithful to Carpenter's vision, there are some obvious changes, the most pronounced of these being the substantial focus on Michael Myers's childhood. The film posits Michael (played by a creepily vacant Daeg Faerch) as a troubled child made all the worse by a horrible home life--wonderfully illustrated via William Forsythe's performance as Deborah Myers's boyfriend--and constant abuse at school. Zombie paints Michael's pain with palpable grit and sleaze, but he isn't out to put our culture on the couch--he simply wants to show Michael killing his family. With the exception of Michael's therapy sessions while incarcerated, the film, post-massacre, stays loyal to the original.
Zombie's film is clearly the work of a filmmaker who knows ...

Early twentysomething writer/director Antonio Campos makes a startlingly assured directorial debut with AFTERSCHOOL. Set in an exclusive Northeastern prep school, the film follows Robert (Ezra Miller), a confused youngster who spends most of his time watching videos on the Internet. Some of these are harmless, but some are much more troubling, including pornography and actual fights that have been captured on various consumer-grade video cameras. Robert himself doesn't appear to have violent desires, yet when he gets his hands on a video camera for a class project and starts becoming closer to fellow classmate Amy (Addison Timlin), he experiences feelings he has previously only encountered on a computer screen. During the filming of a class project, Robert unwittingly captures the overdose of two of the school's most popular girls--twins, no less--sending him into an introverted, despondent tailspin.

$20.05 Kim Basinger proves she's worthy of her L.A. CONFIDENTIAL Oscar with this nailbiter of a thriller. The actress stars as a wife and mother who is abused by her husband (Craig Sheffer), as her young children look on. But when she is faced with a life-or-death situation, the woman ably steps up to the plate and shows that she may not be a victim. After giving a nice performance in BRICK, Lukas Haas continues his trend of playing creepy villains. ...
