Scottish harp and song duo The Duplets are Gillian Fleetwood and Fraya Thomsen. They have been carving names for themselves as \"two of Scotland\'s finest exponents of the Scottish harp\" through their captivating live shows. | | Katie Melua Piece By Piece CD (2005)
Tree Of Strings music CDs
$12.59 PIECE BY PIECE is the 2005 second album from jazz-influenced rock artist and includes her interpretations of hits by Willie Nelson ("On The Road Again") and the Cure ("Just Like Heaven").
Georgia-born (as in the country, not the state) singer/songwriter Katie Melua found herself atop the British charts in 2003 with her breezy debut, Call Off the Search, which sold over three million copies in Europe alone. Her laid-back blend of blues, jazz, and pop with a kiss of worldbeat drew comparisons to Norah Jones, and rightfully so. She sticks to the formula on her lush, ultimately safe follow-up, Piece by Piece. This is Coldplay for the Diana Krall crowd, a perfectly rendered slice of adult contemporary pie for a lazy summer day delivered by an artist whose beautiful voice is almost striking in how unremarkable it is. Her ...
| | Guantanamera/The Sandpipers CD (2000)
Tree Of Strings songs
$13.59 There is an undeniable charm in the whimsy and subdued kitsch of these affably mellow melodies. This two-fer from Collectors' Choice Music gathers the Sandpipers' 1966 release Guantanamera, as well as their self-titled follow-up from 1967. These were the highest charting long-players that the trio -- consisting of vocalists Jim Brady, Mike Piano, and Richard Shoff -- issued, reaching number 13 and number 53 respectively on the pop album charts. In addition to including the title track from their LP -- the South American folk standard "Guantanamera" -- this disc also highlights some remarkably fresh sounding pop/rock covers, as well as other traditional folk songs from around the globe. While Guantanamera is their debut album, the members of the Sandpipers had previously worked together for several years. Initially, the three met as members of ...
| | Leonard Cohen Ten New Songs CD (2001)
Tree Of Strings album
$7.59 The nine-year gap separating THE FUTURE and TEN NEW SONGS was by far the longest in Leonard Cohen's recording career. The surprising thing is that after all that interim time spent on a mountain in Zen meditation (no, really) the tone and outlook of Cohen's work seems hardly altered. Most importantly, his masterful songwriting acumen did not diminish ...

Tree Of Strings CD music
$8.99 THE UNITED ARTISTS COLLECTION contains 49 tracks on 2 discs and captures all of the studio recordings Gordon Lightfoot made between 1964 and 1969. The booklet includes extensive liner notes and rare photographs.
THE UNITED ARTISTS COLLECTION, which includes every original track from Canadian singer/songwriter Gordon Lightfoot's first four albums, will prove illuminating to those who only know Lightfoot from his biggest hits, most of which came a bit later. The Canuck troubadour's folk roots are more obvious on his early recordings; that's not to say that there's anything traditionally ...
| | Bob Dylan Things Have Changed CD (2000)
Tree Of Strings music CDs
$22.09 When Bob Dylan's "Things Have Changed" showed up on the soundtrack to the movie Wonder Boys in 2000, it seemed to complete a cycle, suggesting a link to Dylan's 1964 ground-shifting cultural statement "The Times They Are a-Changin'." On closer inspection, the lyrics to "Things Have Changed" really seem to be mostly about a hopeless love affair, but the penultimate line "I used to care, but things have changed" still suggested a political or cultural change of climate, and Dylan was perceived to be saying a whole lot more than the actual lyrics stated. This, of course, is what makes Dylan lyrics the pop equivalent of a hall of mirrors, and is a good part of his enduring appeal. The song ended up winning an Academy Award in 2001. This four-song set includes the album version of "Things Have Changed" from Best of Bob Dylan, Vol. 2 along with live versions of "Blowin' in the Wind," "Make You Feel My Love," and the intriguing ...
