Mike Ladd has been a strong presence in central Massachusetts for almost thirty years. His completely original style of writing and performing at times defies description, leaving audiences captivated. Ladd’s music weaves aggression and beauty, intensity, and subtlety into a tapestry that has earned the respect and admiration of his peers in the music industry.Mike Ladd’s musical career began in Worcester, Massachusetts during the late ‘70’s. As a founding member of the regionally popular band Chimera, his abilities on guitar and voice won him much acclaim. As the band’s popularity grew, an EP was released in 1985 on the band’s own label called Coming Into Color. An appearance on the television series “Spenser For Hire” elevated Chimera to their height of notoriety and they disbanded in 1987.After backpacking through Mediterranean Europe, Mike Ladd returned in the 1990’s and published The Auricle, an art and poetry magazine showcasing New England artists. In its short life, The Auricle won high praise in cultural circles and was used in public school English curricula. Throughout the decade Ladd was a member of Critics, Cynics, Antagonists; Leslie Buck & the Change; and No We Don’t; as well as writing and performing both solo and with his own ensemble The Ladd Foundation. His first full length CD, The Storm, was critically acclaimed throughout the northeast (see reviews). Produced by Lance Vardis (Rustic Overtones, Twisted Roots, Apehangers) and crafted with Joe Miglionico on bass and drums (both Chimera alumni), The Storm also features Chris Stanley and John Byron on percussion, Rick Becker on sax, and the late Bill Ryan on trumpet. The stark and riveting cover photograph was by Steve Collins and the stunning paintings on the back and inside jacket are by the wonderful Amy Weichmann. A decade after its release, The Storm sounds current and remains a beautiful and brave vision of soul and psyche.Mike Ladd is also included on The Old Vienna Tapes Vol. 1, a live showcase of artists’ performances at the famed Old Vienna Kaffeehaus; and the Ladd Foundation appears on the Iggy Pop tribute collection I Wanna Be A Stooges from Revenge Records. Mike Ladd has been the subject of numerous television and radio interviews and performances, and has acted on the theatre stage as well. In this new century, Mike Ladd is a member of the funk and R&B band The Valves, and, along with Joe Miglionico, performs with them all over New England. Ladd has written for The Journal of Music in Ireland (JMI). He is happily married and has three boys and perhaps too many pets. Storm album
$19.10 NEVER A DULL MOMENT picks up where EVERY PICTURE TELLS A STORY left off. Here we have more raucous rock & roll with healthy dollops of soul and twang thrown in for good measure. Always looking for a good songwriter to cover, Stewart's honorees here include Jimi Hendrix ("Angel"), Dylan ("Mama You Been On My Mind"), and Rod's personal hero, Sam Cooke ("Twistin' The Night Away"). Sidling up nicely next to these heartfelt interpretations are some of Stewart's finest original songs. Teaming with spiritual brother Ron Wood, Stewart ...

| | Tom Waits Glitter And Doom Live CDs (2009) Digipak
Storm music CDs
$13.84 Glitter and Doom Live, a double-disc set, marks Tom Waits' third live effort in his nearly 40-year career, each one summing up his career to the point of its release. The first, Nighthawks at the Diner issued in 1975 on Asylum, is regarded by many as one of the greatest live albums of all time. The second was Big Time, released during his tenure at Island in 1986. The musical performances on disc one of Glitter and Doom Live were culled from Waits' historic sold-out tour of the U.S. and Europe. He compiled and sequenced the set himself, intending to make ...

| | Daughtry Leave This Town CD (2009)
Storm album
$15.45 When he was recording his debut album in 2006, Chris Daughtry didn't have the time to assemble the real rock band he so desperately wanted to have, so it appeared under the band name Daughtry without featuring any of the musicians who later became part of the group. That's not the case with LEAVE THIS TOWN, Daughtry's second record: all five members are glowering on the album cover, floating like specters over an abandoned Californian street. The five rockers serve as visual evidence that Daughtry is a band, not a person, and such reminders may be necessary because LEAVE THIS TOWN doesn't differ much in feel or form from DAUGHTRY. ...

Capping off the collection is "Extreme Ways (Bourne's Ultimatum)," a beat-driven song by electronica artist Moby.

FromGoodHomesreleased three recordings for RCA and toured nationally, sharing the stage with Bob Dylan, The Dave Mathews Band, Joan Osborne and Bob Weir’s Rat Dog, to name a few.
