Gamma Ray - Hell Yeah Movie Review Average Rating: (4 out of 5 stars) A Hit-and slight miss! The Gamma Ray dvd is finally released after a few delays. How is is you wonder? Well the performance is top notch. The Rays deliver a blistering set with an energetic show from the "Majestic" tour. I do have a problem with the video portion of this dvd though. I don't know if it is poor lighting, camera quality or both, but in alot of the dvd the band are lost or washed out in a sea of red lighting. Out of focus or soft focus also hurt the quality of the dvd. It's a great package with a great set,but I feel that a band like Gamma Ray deserve better. The second dvd is real good. We get a documentery of the tour, where apparently the band learned a new word."Awesome". As well as some live stuff from a couple of Wacken shows(where the video quality is superior to that on the main disc). Also included are promo videos from the band over the years and "HistoRay" a history of the band. All in all this is a very nice dvd and worth it for fans of the band.I just feel it doesn't hold up video quality wise when compared to the likes of the latest from Kamelot,Helloween or Children Of Bodom. Don't let me disuade you.Buy it,you'll(probably) like it! Submitted by sbeppel (pottstown,pa.) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 1 found this helpful.
Hell Yeah Im very Happy with this DVD, the setlist is amazing in the concert, the second disc bring all the history more his videos, but my happyness are completed with the inclusion of a Third DVD bonus filmed in Spain, in total 3 DVDS. HELL YEAH!!!!! Submitted by Nightcrawler (Miami,FL,USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No 1 of 1 found this helpful.
Vidoe Quality Falls Somewhat Short! Gamma Ray's DVD is finally out and I was filed with excitement to check it out. Well let me say right off the bat that it's a good dvd with a great performance from the Rays-BUT,I feel the video quality is not that great. Dont get me wrong. It's not horrible, but it looks like poor lighting(way too much red)washing the guys out too often and soft focus or out of focus a little too much. That aside the thing sounds great. The band kick butt and seem to be having a blast on the tour.Tyhe setlist does not include anything from the latest record as it was recorded on the "Majestic" tour. A great setlist and Kai and the guys rip. I was suprised tosee how good Henjo is on lead guitar. He really smokes. The second disc has all or almost all of the bands promo videos and you can see the band's sense of humour thru out. A couple songs from the wacken fests kinda remind you of the lacking video quality of the main disc. Crisp clear video imaging. The tour documenrty is fun. I think the guys may have learned a new word on their trip to North America.Awesome!Al n all it's a good 3 star dvd. I just feel a band of gamma Rays stature deserves better. Putalong side dvd's from Kamelot,Helloween and Children Of Bodom this one is a noticable step down in the video department. All in al,if your a Gama ray fan you should like this alot. I know I do. just a tad dissappointed. Submitted by sbeppel (Pottstown,pa.) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

EPK incl. Making of video (enhanced) The unprecedented worldwide success of multinational British-based power metallers DragonForce has cast an unexpected light upon German speed metal trailblazers Helloween. Perhaps the first band to convincingly combine thrash metal intensity with the melody and majestic imagery of the NWOBHM, and by extension the blueprint upon which DragonForce based their "extreme power metal" style, Helloween were a heavy metal institution, but one that had very much fallen by the wayside upon the departure of classic-era singer Michael Kiske and founder/guitarist Kai Hansen in the mid-'90s. Singer Andi Deris has been a permanent fixture ever since, but the band has found stable lineups difficult to come by, and the quality of material has been equally inconsistent. Following 2005's Keeper of The Seven Keys: The Legacy, on which the band attempted to revive the style of their mid-'80s classics, Gambling with the Devil is a little more calculated. The appearance of Saxon mainstay Biff Byford on the intro track "Crack the Riddle" is all too foreboding, however: ...
