(5 Customer Reviews)
For their second release, Hinder polish their good-time pop-metal fusion to a glittering finish. With bright, engaging melodic hooks, rousing guitar parts, and an overall party vibe, Hinder parties not like it's 1999 but rather like it's 1988. If Ratt and Poison had material as strong as Hinder's, they might've been as popular in the '00 decade as in their `80s heyday. TAKE IT TO THE LIMIT is worthy of becoming the soundtrack to many Friday-night liberation parties.

Billboard (p.229) - "Deliciously decadent, TAKE IT TO THE LIMIT has even more melodic power than its predecessor, delivering tons of guilty pleasures that sound fresh and familiar and strangely exciting." Kerrang (Magazine) (p.48) - "'Use Me' kicks things off in reasonable style with an AC/DC-style chiming guitar leading into a chunky riff and simple hip-shaking anthem." Better then Hinders first hinder did well with extreme behavior estabblishing themselves. But in a sense of direction there were everywhere. We finally see where they where going with that album and adding 80's rock and Acdc Back in Black producer. We see the best of them on this album an 80's sense with power ballads in their without you the best song on the album. Submitted by Journeyfan327 (Gaithersburg Ma) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
AOR (Nickelback is the one that started it!) This is a band, in one's wildest dreams, who DREAM big. Brian Howes, like Arnold Lanni, is more lackey in the producer's chair that I have ever seen where the gloss is all that will shine off of 'TITTL'. Where did the talent go? "Uh-huh .. YEA!" It's no different than what 'Extreme Behavior' has to offer, but you want a party favor, you got a mix of it with tequila and nothing else but the bravado thinking a 3rd offering is on the horizon. If critics are smack with Nickelback, Hinder is not far away in that dept. but fanfare won't take long to dig except that it's ALL earcandy. I didn't know that they had to dig deep into balladeering this time around, so you never know how far Hinder's pocket will have to dig for pocket change. I don't mind it, it's just short of its value compared to 'EB'.

"Hole In The World" was nominated for the 2004 Grammy Award for Best Pop Performance By A Duo Or Group With Vocal.
This 1994 greatest hits package (released in anticipation of the band's wildly successful reunion tour and album) supplants THEIR GREATEST HITS 1971-1975. It adds seven songs, but unfortunately deletes "Already Gone," one of their best rockers.
What's most interesting about THE VERY BEST OF THE EAGLES - apart from the presence of obviously classic songs like "Take It Easy" and "Hotel California" - is that it demonstrates that the band's esthetic was fully formed from day one. Despite the fact that the songs here span nearly a decade, listening to them back to back you could almost believe they were the product of one marathon recording session.
The Eagles' founders Don Henley and Glenn Frey were forthright in their desire to bring then-emerging country rock to new heights of commercial success. Formed in Los Angeles in 1971, they learned from their observations of the scene ...

Take It To The Limit album
$13.15 "Halker conjures the passionate fire of John Steinbeck" Allgemeine Zeitung"Halker's music is brash, fresh, and tells a mean story" R&R Shopper"Incredibly appealing. Halker is a great singer" Dirty LinenAfter two CDs and a decade of performing worker protest songs, as well as lecturing and writing about the subject, Bucky Halker was aching to get into the studio with his own songs. Bucky wanted to do a studio project that covered a lot of stylistic ground, relied on detailed arrangements, and utilized the skills of several of Chicago’s best musicians, who also happen to be good friends of his. The project turned into a 2-CD set: Wisconsin, 2-13-63, Volumes 1 and 2. Both volumes cover a lot of stylistic ground, with a strong emphais on melody and lyrics. The songs stylistically range from straight country and honkytonk, to jazz, to jingly-jangly pop rock, to New Orleans R&B, to Tex Mex, to straight-ahead rock. Listeners will hear ample doses of vocal harmonies, pedal steel guitars, acoustic guitars, mandolin, electric guitars, Hammond B-3 organ, dobro, and even horns and strings. Politics? Nope. Volume 2 features guest appearances from Janet Bean (Freakwater/11th Dream Day), Paul Mertens (Brian Wilson/Poi Dog Pondering), Bob Egan (Wilso/Blue Rodeo), Don Stiernberg (David Grisman), Pickles Piekarksi (John Prine), Jim Cox (Marian McPartland), Brian Wilke (Hoyle Bros.), Sue Demel (Sons of the Never Wrong), Gordon Patriarca, Steve Yates, Drew Enselman, Steve Rashid, and many more.
