Polytonal Dance Party album Product Description
Polytonal Dance Party album by Brad Goode was released Nov 18, 2008 on the Origin label. Brad Goode has long experimented with using polychordal harmonies, as many jazz musicians have well before him, but prior to this recording session, the trumpeter's adventurous charts tended to overwhelm many of the players who worked with him. Polytonal Dance Party songs But this date freed Goode from the series of post-bop/hard bop/bop recordings that he had made in the past. Polytonal Dance Party album Accompanied by guitarist Bill Kooper (who switches to sitar on some tracks), pianist/keyboardist Jeff Jenkins, bassist Ken Walker, and drummer Anthony Lee, Goode puts his musicians to the test with his wild charts, which at times combine two four-note chords that seem to conflict with the harmony underneath. Polytonal Dance Party CD music The oft-kilter "Encryption" sounds like something from the era of '70s fusion, though the harmonies against the funky backbeat are far more modern. Goode adds a mute for his fairly straight-ahead, lyrical treatment of the old soul-pop song "Betcha by Golly Wow," though Jenkins' keyboards get pretty far out behind the leader. Polytonal Dance Party CD music contains a single disc with 11 songs. ...See Full Description

'Bout Right Liberalodium CD (2008)
Polytonal Dance Party CD music "Liberalodium" is by the Mississippi-based group 'Bout Right. As the name implies, this interesting and provocative music is unabashedly conservative politically, delivered with a wry sense of humor, heart-felt honesty, and engaging musicality (think a kind of 'White Album' of conservative politics). Released in 2008, before the presidential election, some tracks, such as "It's All Over," sound strangely prophetic regarding Supreme Court picks, etc.
, from the present administration.
