Rui Caetano is one of the portuguese jazz pianists on the scene. He lived in NYC from 1998 to 2001, where he graduated from the New School University with a B.F.A. Degree in Jazz and Contemporary Music Performance Major. He studied with Armen Donnelian, Bruce Barth, Peter Zack, Phil Markowitz, Hal Galper, Cecil Mcbee, Rory Stuart, Joe Chambers and Chico Hamilton. Back in Portugal, divides his professional activity between playing, composing and teaching. "Reflexos" is the first recording of the "Rui Caetano Trio". It has 8 original compositions inspired on his life experiences. Themes and improvisations are played with a very truthful and poetic sense that brings his music to a very pleasant universe of sound speaking emotions.
