A NEW HALLELUJAH is a live album by Michael W. Smith, one of the biggest stars of contemporary Christian music. Recorded in Houston in July 2008, this set is as much a prayer service as it is a concert, complete with worship interludes by Smith and Coalo Zamorano, a guest vocal showcase for Israel Houghton and the 250-strong African Children's Choir on the title track and "When I Think of You." There are moments of spine-tingling beauty here. Michael W Smith New Hallelujah Songs New Hallelujah Music Review Average Rating: (4 out of 5 stars) I love all of it...... the DVD is like you were there. I love all of this. Lots of depth in the words.
I've seen the DVD. It is like you are at the concert, the visuals are spectacular. Additional takes and songs on DVD. I recommend both cd and dvd.

MWS Knows How To Praise I really like this one.
Cover great, the new songs are stellar,
the clock in the beginning i really liked. The guest are top notch: Coalo Zamarano, Israel Houghton, the African Children's Choir.
They could have added alittle more audience participation because you don't get the feel that they're were almost 12,000 people in the venue.
If I could give it 4 and half, I would. I didn't give it a 5 because I think it was slightly patterned after the others; I would have liked another new song.
The only reason I gave it a 4 instead of 5 is that it could have been Submitted by lmradio6814 (Los Angeles, CA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

New Hallelujah album
$15.05 Recorded live at The Carpenter's Home Church, Lakeland, Florida on June 1, 2001 and at Bridgeway Studio, Nashville, Tennessee.
WORSHIP was nominated for the 2002 Grammy Award for Best Pop/Contemporary Gospel Album.
While Michael W. Smith has made his name in Christian music as a singer-songwriter possessed of prolific abilities, WORSHIP finds him putting down his pen for a moment to sing the songs of others. There's been so much activity in the worship music scene, so many songs written, that even a respected auteur like Smith recognized the need to document some of the more affecting tunes in one place. He does so here with the help of some luminaries from the Christian music world, including Amy Grant and a host of others. The music is a mix of smooth balladry, upbeat pop-rock with an occasional hint of U2's wide-screen epic feel, and gospel-flavored ...

In the XTC canon, THE BIG EXPRESS (1984) and its predecessor MUMMER are generally overlooked as merely the two albums between the more commercially successful ENGLISH SETTLEMENT and SKYLARKING. THE BIG EXPRESS is, in fact, a more consistent album--if only because it isn't quite as ambitious--and it contains at least two absolute classic XTC songs, "All You Pretty Girls" and "Seagulls Screaming Kiss Her Kiss Her." I also like them to have a film-soundtrack quality, with a gentle piano, harpsichord or African drums weaving among the guitars, to help you see what my song is describing – whether that is a desert or a dragon. I pick up stories from my travels and from English folktales. I write acoustic folk songs that tell stories, taking the listener from the Wild Coast of Africa to the haunted forests of England. You might find yourself listening to a tired and lonely dragon slayer telling you about his youth by the fireside in ‘Dragon Slayer’. ‘River Song’ will let you shoot the rapids of Namibia in the sunshine and hear an eagle cry in the desert. In ‘They Dream Again’, you might glimpse ghosts by moonlight, as they revisit the beautiful palaces they built while they were alive. A song can take you anywhere. ‘O Africa’ takes you to the white sands of Etosha, where you can hear the grass of the plains breathing in the wind. ‘Stronger Than She Seems’ puts ...
