(3 Customer Reviews)
The sophomore release from Shiny Toy Guns builds on the synth pop/post-punk vibe of their debut, WE ARE PILOTS, but mixes up the game a bit. Where its predecessor focused on dance floor-filling groovers that recalled 1980s New Wave, SEASON OF POISON is darker and heavier. The guitar-driven lead single, "Ricochet!" is a case in point, as is opener "When the Storm Begins." Catchy enough to appeal to pop fans, but with enough bite to catch the fancy of metalheads, SEASON OF POISON finds Shiny Toy Guns pushing their sound forward.

Alternative Press (p.130) - 3 stars out of 5 -- "[T]he goths-in-space epic 'Frozen Oceans' and New Order-ish soft-rocker 'Turned To Real Life' are two of POISON's best songs." Clash (magazine) (p.87) - 3 stars out of 5 -- "Treasure's aggressive style deftly balances Chad Petree's more melodic side, and sees the band straddling the line between insistent, hard-hitting rock and Coldplay-esque balladry." Shiny Toy Guns Season Of Poison Songs Season Of Poison Music Review Average Rating: (3 out of 5 stars) ehhhh. Not the best album, but has alot of good songs on it. a little more main stream and not as epic as we are pilots. Submitted by morrisaaron13 (Temecula, CA, USA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
It's ok There are only two good songs on this album- Ricochet! and Ghost Town. This album does not come close to measuring up to their last album, We Are Pilots. Despite their lack of effort, I love 'em anyways. Submitted by xXwolfgrrlXx (Ohio) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No
Shades of the Depeche Mode influence, touch-on NIN But it doesn't rise up like 'We Are Pilots' because it is evident of the switcheroo in the female vocals which makes me think the band has yet to streamline their sound so if "Ricochet!" and "When Did This Storm Begin?" is an indication of what the expectations were high on 'We Are Pilots', well, it's downgraded and the flaws need to be worked out besides being "Myspace fodder" which should turn into hit singles and/or albums. Being in "top 20 status" is a starting point. Submitted by gaffaw (Edmonton, AB, CANADA) Was This Review Helpful? Yes No

He has two brothers and four sisters. Father of three, and Grandfather of three, also owner of Danny’s Towing.Danny’s progress throughout life, his way of living, occupation and profession runs at full speed. Danny’s heart is in his music inspired as a little boy. Music motivated his desires in song writing by watching his uncles sitting around backyard bong-fires singing oldies at family barbecues and gatherings. He was especially fond of one uncle Robert Alcarez who taught Danny how to play the guitar at an early age of fourteen years old. Coming from a stable life of a lower poor class family born and raised in the Barrio, life was never easy for Danny; tough times were then and yet more to come. Struggling through domestic and gang violence, party’s, drugs , drinking and drive-by\'s he grew up watching his friends slowly but surely die one by one due to this type of lifestyle. Although this didn’t stop Danny. The tougher life became, the harder he pushed. This only drove Danny’s inhibitions of believing in the American Dream. Danny made it out of the barrio by following through with his belief\'s. Danny’s ambition escalated from the early age of fourteen applying and working as a chicken ranch laborer consisting of 30,000 chickens which involved feeding, cleaning and gathering eggs. Fast food restaurants were not a miss yet realizing as a young adult that life was a struggle and life is what you make of it. That’s all there is to it! So unless he wanted to flip hamburgers and worry about where his next meal would come from as he grew older Danny quit. He had skills for which he applied them by getting himself hired as an assistant for an Auto Body Shop repairing , painting and detailing vehicles. In being the hard working and attentive person that Danny ...
