Disney's A Christmas Carol DVD DISNEY'S A CHRISTMAS CAROL, a multi-sensory thrill ride re-envisioned by Academy Award®-winning filmmaker Robert Zemeckis, captures the fantastical essence of the classic Dickens tale in a groundbreaking 3-D motion picture event. Ebenezer Scrooge (JIM CARREY) begins the Christmas holiday with his usual miserly contempt, barking at his faithful clerk (GARY OLDMAN) and his cheery nephew (COLIN FIRTH). But when the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come take him on an eye-opening journey revealing truths Old Scrooge is reluctant to face, he must open his heart to undo years of ill will before it's too late.

Disney's A Christmas Carol review
Spain's official entry for the 2000 Academy Awards, YOU'RE THE ONE - A STORY OF THE PAST, is acclaimed director José Luis Garci's tribute to classic Hollywood melodrama's of the 1940s. A glamorous Kim Novak-like blonde, Julia (Lydia Bosch), is devastated by the death of her lover, an artist and political prisoner, who died in exile. To cope with her depression she leaves Madrid for her family's remote rural estate, "Llendelbarca," an enchanting and picturesque home steeped in memories of her own childhood. Upon her arrival she is reunited with her family's servants, Pilara (Ana Fernández), Gala (Julia Gutiérrez Caba) and Pilara's son Juanito (Manuel Lozano). Julia's presence at Llendelbarca stirs up old memories and reconnects the woman to a simpler country life, while infusing the town with her exotic and radical sensibilities. Julia is an intoxicating and worldly rebel who delights in shocking the traditional villagers and exciting those looking for escape. Juanito, a sensitive dreamer who delights in the weekly showings of American movies at the village bar, finds a kindred spirit in Julia who instantly takes a liking to the young boy. Julia's presence also inspires Juanito's retiring schoolmaster Orfeo (Iñaki Miramón) who shyly begins to share his own artistic passions with the beautiful newcomer. ...

Disney's A Christmas Carol DVD
The big-hearted fantasy DOSTANA offers many touches familiar from other Karan Johar productions--an upscale urban location, gorgeous stars, and a focus on love and its complications. But first-time director Tarun Mansukhani, Johar's longtime assistant director, shows an independent streak, spending less time tugging heartstrings and more tickling funny bones. Mansukhani also offers a daring (for Bollywood) plot involving two straight guys who pretend to be a gay couple in order to get an apartment with a pool, a view of downtown Miami, and a beautiful tenant whose protective aunt won't rent to men.
Mansukhani's camera can't get enough of the tropical hues of South Beach. Mostly, though, it ogles the acres of skin on display--Shilpa Shetty shimmying on the beach alongside the opening credits, heroine Priyanka Chopra radiant in a gold swimsuit--but it lingers longest on the splendor that is John Abraham as he rises from the surf in a tiny yellow bikini, pads around a girlfriend's apartment in equally tiny briefs, and lolls about in tight v-necked shirts. None of these beautiful people has ever looked better. And as the key character, the man with the plan and a convertible the color of Pepto-Bismol, Abhishek Bachchan is clearly having the time of his life. His pitch-perfect comic performance and crackling chemistry with his co-stars--especially Abraham--is a delight to watch. The three leads make a charming triangle, with Bachchan and Abraham flinging themselves at every available laugh and even ...
