In the mid 90's Sweden's Sacramentum along with such prolific acts as Dissection & Dark Tranquillity forged a unique sound uniting the impact and technical diversity of death metal with the raw darkness of black metal and haunting guitar melodies. The rather short-lived Sacramentum released two masterly examples of this new breed of extreme metal with with 1997's 'The Coming Of Chaos' and 1999's 'Thy Black Destiny'. Both albums have long been out-of-print but now have been remastered into a single collection with new artworks and layouts. Century Media. 2008. Abyss Of Time Review

Bon Jovi's 1984 debut not only became a blueprint for the band's multi-platinum releases of later years, but a definitive work for an entire genre. Though scores of short-lived pop-metal bands rocketed to popularity on the success of this release, the time-weathered BON JOVI continues to stand out from the pack.

Abyss Of Time
$40.75 FLY THE FLAG is the 1999 album from punk-rock band Down By Law.
This Japanese edition has 15 songs, including two bonus tracks: "Wild Rover" and "All for Me Grog."
Erratic albums and frequent personnel changes often go hand in hand -- just ask anyone who has followed the creative ups and downs of Black Sabbath and Deep Purple. Down by Law went through more than its share of personnel changes in the '90s -- its original 1991 lineup only lasted for one album, and when the band recorded Fly the Flag in 1999, its lineup included singer/founder Dave Smalley (the only remaining original member), lead guitarist Sam Williams III (who had been on board since 1992) and newcomers Keith Davies (bass) and Milo Todesco (drums). Todesco was DBL's fifth drummer, while Davies was its fourth bassist. So considering how many personnel changes the band had gone through between 1991 and 1999, it would be understandable if one greeted Fly the Flag with some apprehension. But as it turns out, this CD (DBL's first album for Go-Kart after spending most of the '90s at Epitaph) is a very pleasant surprise. DBL's 1999 lineup proves to be cohesive, and the band sounds quite focused and inspired on such socio-political alternative/punk fare as "Man on the Street," "Revolution Compromised," "This Is the New Breed" and "Breakout!" (which incorporates Celtic elements while examining the political climate in Ireland and Scotland). Less sociopolitical is "Nothing Good on the Radio," an angry rant about the state of commercial radio in the late '90s. Lumping Tupac Shakur's compelling gangsta rap in with the mainstream Top 40 fare of Mariah Carey and the Backstreet Boys, the song doesn't make its case very well -- that's sort of like lumping Charlie ...

Abyss Of Time
$28.59 Terry Oldfield is an internationally acclaimed composer and musician. Terry is English born but now resides in Australia. He began playing the flute on the Island of Hydra in Greece in 1970. The call of the ocean and the tinkering sounds of goat bells on his simple island home inspired him greatly. At this time he also began to practice meditation and contemplation on the mysteries of the realms of sound. Terry spent seven years in this way. During this time Terry travelled extensively throughout India. The mystical magic of India with its colours and music has always been a strong influence on his career and has flavoured his music. From here he moved into composing music for television in England, America and Europe. He also began a career as a recording artist with over 30 CD’s released and three million sales world wide. Terry is a deeply spiritually inspired flautist and has focused in the past on his silver flutes including the concert and Alto. Recently he has become inspired to play the Bansuri Flute. The Bansuri is the traditional Indian flute made of simple bamboo. Various sizes of these flutes give different tones and notes. His latest albums Yoga Harmony and Reiki Harmony and Labyrinth are composed around the Bansuri. Recently in Australia Terry has begun working live with people, leading sound journey meditations and giving flute concerts. He has teamed up with Soraya Devashakti Saraswati who is a spiritual teacher and healer. Together they have been running Resonance Soundshops and live concerts in Australia and are now touring overseas. In his personal life Terry practices yoga & meditation, loves walking in the forest, and swimming in the ocean. Terry is a Reiki master and works with energetic healing. Terry and Soraya run regular Kirtan healing music and chant evenings ...
